Also, looking at the source code for the www.pyropuzzles.com website I find this metadata. Sounds like more than just puzzles!

"meta name="description" content="Explosives Expert working as expert witness for court cases, explosives consultant for various project, film and theatre special effects, battle simulations and much more">

meta name="keywords" content="bursts, on, the, beat, firework, fireworks, explosive, explosives, blast, sfx, special, effects, fangs, expert, witness, film, theatre, television, TV, battle, simulation, lecture, demonstration, speaker, after, dinner, consultancy, demolition, excavation, music, pyrotechnic, physical, prosthetic, dentures"

Edit: Correct formatting.

I googled that earlier and came across a web pages with that meta. I found it strange. Here is one for example.

http://liveactionfx.com/

But then I also googled pyro puzzles stephen miller and came across a lot of different pyro puzzles. I'm pretty sure Stephen Miller is legit, but is he allowing a special section of his page to be used for this?

Check this out.

As for pyropuzzle.com, whois says it's registered by a Steve Miller, and some googling makes me think it's just a nod to puzzle lover/creator from the UK and not related to ADI.

The more I read I would agree.

I just think the whole "Everything referenced is fictional" thing is suspicious. I also think the letter J will be a clue/solution later on.

I'm going on the assumption that this was a get to know everyone and fall into place puzzle.

Leaders rise, detractors fall, work patterns established. All that good stuff.

I actually surprised that they got a comprehensive journal using every letter of the alphabet except 1. lol

I'm new to Arg's and don't want a twitter account or smartphone. Is that going to be a handicap of substantial quantities, or does a community like this usually nullify it?

I know the next question.

I don't like twitter based of idiotic principle and if I have a smartphone, I'll never do anything other than stare at it.

Shouldn't be a problem as Twitter lets you read tweets without an account. Also people here will post anything pertinent.

I think spoiler for this?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
after Dr Ripley's twitter was found and then linked to Johnathan Watson, I have read both and found a link in Watsons to http://www.pyropuzzles.com/

https://twitter.com/NotthatWatson/status/462249693234606080

So I went there and you can email to reserve your puzzle that is based on Ancient Elements. Since the journal was written in Alchemical symbols, I think this might further discovery. I sent an email of interest as they requested and I'm awaiting a reply.

Also Watson claims he was on Janet airline at Area 51 doing research.[spoiler]

So I got an email from Pyro Puzzles. But this is great because I love mechanical puzzles! Laughing So Pyro most likely leads nowhere at all.

Thank you for your interest in 'Fire' the first puzzle in our planned Elemental Puzzle Series.

Your name and contact details have been added to our list, so we can keep you informed about the progress we're making.

As you've taken the time to register, we'll make sure we let you know what's going on ahead of publishing the information elsewhere.

This also applies to when we have puzzles assembled, packaged and ready for shipping, so you'll be the first to know and can get in early and buy your puzzle.

Thanks again for your interest.

Just as a mention Tadao had mentioned the odd meta in the Pyro puzzle and finding it somehow linked to a liveactionfx site - look at the email address from the steve miller email....

I might not be seeing what you're seeing. Stephen Miller is the creator of the Pyro Puzzles, I'm not seeing anything related to Liveactionfx

It may be a coincidence but his email address came up as at Live Action - and so I emailed him the following and he replied - soooo Wink

-----My Email

to Steve
Thank you and I must admit my ignorance and ask what the letters after your name mean [M.u. exp e]

Also, are you affiliated with the Live action Fx website/company?

Thank you

Jojo

------ His reply

to me
Jojo,

M.I.Exp.E. stands for Member of the Institute of EXPlosives Engineers.

Live Action FX Ltd is my company, through which I do explosives work and consultancy.

Pyro Puzzles is a new venture for me, utilising my love of mechanics/engineering and puzzle boxes, but I couldn't figure out how to get Outlook to send auto responses to e-mails of interest about Pyro Puzzles and 'Fire' without it defaulting to my LiveActionFX.Com account!

I'm planning to send out an update on progress (or lack of it) with pyro puzzles over the next few days.

Regards
