No post to this thread in a long time so I'll correct that.

In the 'spoiler' just above...does the code beginning with "10946348" translate to the line at the end: "The puzzle needs..."?

thayneg: did you ever author some diagrams or charts?

Anyone in the Memphis TN area working on these puzzles?

Nope I didn't, but mine had a problem. The bearing ball was stuck, so I send it for a quick repair.
After I got it back I solved it pretty fast. Too be honest it had nothing to do with skill, just played with it while watching television. Smile

thayneg

Back on 7 Jan 2012, 11:54 thayneg wrote about making some written material to go along with his video. Then 12 Jan 2012, 4:31Am he asked if one might make a donation towards this effort. It has been nearly two years and I was wondering if he actually did this. I might be interested in donating if reviews of his work were favorable. Are you thayneg? I cannot imagine how the Ramisis might accidentally be solved especially while watching TV. Amazing! I'm sure whatever I do to it is making it more difficult somehow and have decided I will have better luck if I just let it sit on the desk.

no, I'm not thayneg. I wish I were though just long enough to open my pyramid. Am recovering from surgery so got out this puzzle again. Long time up on the shelf. Guess I'll try the "just fiddle with it and see if lady luck is around." I've tried to follow the youtube video, to no avail. bummer!

Fiddlin with it
getting it open

fiddlin with it might be just what it needs. While you try to open it put it upsidedown a couple of times , this is part of the solution.

Ramisis and Copernisis

Thanks for the advice. I've turned it, fiddled with it, shook it, etc, etc. It has not opened. I now have the Copernisis, which is unopened as well. so for these ISIS puzzles I'm 2 for 2 in opening them.

fiddlin with it

If you read trough the ramisis topics, you'll find people talking about the roh's.Rings of hell. These are the two discs in the middle of the puzzle. When you hold the puzzle in the normal position the bb inside is in a loop the ceiling of this loop has holes that don't go through ,half holes. There is one hole on each ceiling ( two rings of hell) where the bb can get through to proceed to the next ring. The ramisis is 3D maze where you can't see what you're doing, and you need to get the bb from the lower or base level to the top and back down again, once you've done that you did the first half and then you need to do that same trajectory again, the only difference on the second half is that this time at the final destination you'll need to turn to the opposite side of the first time.
Using a magnet to try and locate the bb is a good help.
Good luck.

another method

I've thought about finding someone in the United States who can open it and taking it to them. If they are close to Memphis Tennessee then great, but far away could be expensive. Another method is to buy another one, take it apart, I mean tear it up. Then examine the internal parts to understand where the bb must travel. Might be cheaper.
I'm still fiddling with my Tessarisis. I made a tool that fits the little button wheels so I can push and turn them easily.

link

Thanks, I saw that video some time ago, and I also have seen a two part video of someone actually opening it. I've tried to copy the moves in that video even slowing down the video so I could copy my moves just right. I suppose I'll just wait for the puzzle genie to cast some favorable karma on me.

opened
stuck

Well, my Ramisis is now opened. Key chamber is out. I tried to disassemble it by first moving the locking mechanism to the right with a tool. I moved it maybe 2mm, or not much. Could not take it apart at this point. So after much fiddling with it, I tried to go for the extreme challenge or work it backwards. I turned the placenta to the back and began. I cannot hear the bb at all even after several kinds of movements. I'm wondering if something is stuck inside giving the fact that the locking plate would not move and the bb is silent. Any ideas out there?

pretty

I suppose it may be pretty. I have not looked at it in over a year. It was acting ugly when I put it up, and I doubt it has changed it's attitude at all.
