Bingo. This more or less sums up my final take. These are the three (actually four, but "Tim lives and Jessica dies" and "Jessica lives and Tim dies" are basically the same theme) options left to us, and we must decide for ourselves which one is true.

As far as I'm concerned, Tim is still out there fighting the good fight somewhere. And no matter what life brings him, he will meet it with his own face.

Personally I think that Tim goes away, but he doesn't really "live free." He's probably trying to fight TO or maybe help other people how are facing the same problems�?

Or maybe he killed Jessica at the end, and then kills himself.
