Not sure about your criticism of The Blair Witch in regards to the film itself, personally - a lot of horror narratives telegraph the ending of their protraganists early for that wonderful claustophobic feeling.

What, my criticism? I love stuff that telegraphs as you said, but if you're gonna be that transparent, then make the rest entertaining. I could see MH doing something similar, but it would have to be done well.

I'm not a horror nerd, but I love well-made horror. I can see that BWP did sorta reinvigorate the found footage genre and also spearhead a lot of the marketing that draws people in by blurring the line between real and fabricated, and it deserves props for that.

Had The Last Broadcast, which was made and distributed at the same time as Blair Witch, not had an inexcusable perspective shift at the end (it could have been done well) and also actually included actual Jersey Devil mythology, then it would have been far, far, far better and would be better-remembered. I watched that in 1999 and then rewatched it just over a year ago. It's another movie where everything's right out in the open, the telegraphing's pretty clear. But it did a much better job of leading the viewers away from it. (until that ending... STILL MAD about that ending... Let's hope Trosephim avoid the sins of both BWP and Last Broadcast).

EDIT: And I'm serious--EVERYONE in the theatre groaned. The only other times I ever heard anythign close were Waterworld (understandable), and, for some reason, No Country For Old Men, which I think is the best thing the Coens ever did that was not from an original script (the ending's perfect, but some goober shouted out, "They're setting it up for a sequel!" Which they so weren't).

Does anyone else here think that the Brian from this entry looks different compared to the Brian from previous entries (facial hair aside)? Confused

Yeah, I think he looks the same, just older in Entry 84, since I'm guessing that was filmed recently. If you look at Entry 55, it's the same guy as Entry 84.

Yes, #84 was probably filmed recently. Brians receding hairline gives it away. Wink

Other that that, if you compare him to his other appearance in, say #7, he looked way more jacked back in season 1. I too failed to identify him visualy at first.

Brian's hair was probably already receding during Entry #51. There are recent photos of him on Troy's page with his hair fully grown and it's almost like his hair hasn't been receding at all. Surprised

I don't know that his hair's really receding so much as he has it cut far shorter in that entry than he did early on, and that he looks a lot slimmer. Did he go vegan or something? Tapeworm?

last chance

Basically telling Tim that this is his last chance to come back and become a proxy with the choices of watching the tape and be attacked or not and help The Operator once more and also noticed the tape showed Brian and Tim had a friendship so that must true within hoody
