Discussing this with a friend that's not here on uF, so this is *not* to be credited to me, but I really loved her thoughts on the few phrases that I said I just knew must be important somehow, and I threw out the phrases "Out damn spot", "meteors crash", and "embalm me" specifically. (She may register here, and if so, she can run with this, but thought I'd put it out there just in case.)

""Out damn spot" was from MacBeth. Lady MacBeth was seeing blood on her hands no matter how much she washed them after committing murder.
Meteors crash....Hmmmm....could he have fallen asleep at the meteor place?
WAIT!! Isn't Ted's place hear there? He's "crashing" at Ted's.
Embalm me...this part confuses me.
Could it have something to do with memory? Remembering someone maybe?

Or embalm could be another word for save.

I'm thinking there's a message there but we don't have all the pieces to it yet....And I do agree with you regarding the stars (pentagrams), roses, red ink, and the doodles in the "E", etc...
There are 2 instances where the stars repeat in a group of 5, so I've been watching for more repetitive patterns of those and similar....

The meteor might be referring to the Amboy Crater that he passed on the way to the hotel, just before the car crash. (Multiple crashes!)

5 red stars, 5 black and red stars, and now 5 words in red.....
(also 4 roses...waiting on a possible 5th one?)
ETA : Found it....it's on the far left of the photo, on the opposite page. So 5 red roses too.

Also ETA: I noticed that in one of the earlier lyrics photos (Oct 22, 11:07 am), the line about Route 66 is reminiscent of the postcard lyrics that include the word "ROOSE" (presumably for "ROSE" but not corrected) where he scribbled out "ROOTE" and rewrote "ROUTE" (in red)

And that there are several photos of identical lyrics, some photos showing more writing or a part of the adjacent page. Not sure if that's significant, except that I'm wondering if the photos including more happen to be showing more of what we need to see. (Which is how I found the 5th rose, by looking at a different photo of the same page.)

New lyrics added. References to car crashes and dead bodies, which might refer to the car crash he witnessed. There are 3 crosses and RIP so maybe 3 people died in the crash.

Maybe there is a news report of this somewhere or something?

In the lyrics a symbol appears twice, once in the word Phoenix and once in the word CHORUS after the six stars. The symbol is a circle with two vertical lines inside it. I've seen it before but I can't place where. I did some research and found that it is a Druidic symbol. Don't know what that means... yet.
