For several months now, drawbars, morningcoffee and L0j1k have been working behind the scenes on a secret plan. This is the timeline of events that have occurred.


July 9th

Agent code 2222222 discovered.
"If you are listening to this agent code, you have been given very specific instructions. Protect this information. MLPL agents have become aware of a counter-operation. It is also known that the counter-operation is not aware of the MLPL mission. You have been instructed to infiltrate the counter-operation and gain their trust. You are instructed to direct them to a honeypot configured to distract them. Lead them quietly away from the agent systems to the new honeypot. They will soon lose interest in agent systems and reduce burden on MLPL. For further information, access tape retrieval system and enter 22100. Message ends."


July 10th

drawbars decides to attempt to take on the role of the agent system infiltrator and leaves QX 90. He tells L0j1k and morningcoffee about this plan.
"Hello. 22100. Infiltration of the counter operation is proving difficult but progress is being made. Need assistance in misdirecting attention away from the agent system. Please provide more specific instruction on preferred honeypot methods to QX 4349."

A few hours later, there is a response on QX 90.
"Instructions have been provided on tape retrieval system. Connect to tape retrieval system to obtain more information. W."

drawbars, L0j1k and morningcoffee discuss what to do, and decide to continue in secret without involving other ARG players for the moment, to try and see how the PM will respond and interact with us when we are not discussing what we're doing openly in channel or on the forums, and if this will change the kind of responses we get. We decided to test how PM would react without being able to read everything we're saying, and get everyone involved at a later date.

drawbars leaves a follow-up on QX 91.
"22100. Please provide details on how to access tape retrieval system. Use QX 4349 if possible."


July 11th

A response to QX 91 is received.
"I will need to obtain authorization from J to use that alternate QX code. Stand by. W."

drawbars responds on QX 92.
"22100 standing by. If alternate QX is unavailable please leave access information for tape retrieval system on QX 92."

Later, a response on QX 92 comes from W.
"The requested code was granted."

There is also now a message on QX 4349.
"Agent T. I am waiting to hear about the counter operation. -W"

(W refers to drawbars as "Agent T" here - drawbars' real name starts with a T but he has not mentioned this in his QXs at all!)

drawbars leaves a new QX for W, asking for detailed instructions on how to access tape retrieval system, and says that the counteroperatives have a lot of information and have been receiving secret information from Robert Bramble.


Later, there is a new message on QX 4349.
"These are some very serious accusations, Agent T. If you are correct, the counter operation is aware of nearly all our operations. Do you know if they have the MLPL mission documents? I do not want to alarm J if at all possible. Do not mention this situation to him. The tape archive is on the Milford, DE system. It is a 0004 number. You should have this information. -W"

morningcoffee, drawbars and L0j1k find that the Milford DE area code is 302, and locate a list of exchange numbers for this specific area. We start dialling all possible exchange codes and find one number in particular, 302 725 0004, which makes a strange short buzzing sound on dialling. The phone number is registered to Level 3 Communications like the OTP22 numbers. However, the number does not appear to accept input.


July 13th


drawbars leaves a new QX on 96.
"4349. Agent T reporting. Unable to connect to Milford Delaware system. Please confirm area code and exchange for this system is 302 725."


July 16th


A new QX from W is on 4349.
"I wanted to keep you updated on some progress behind the scenes. We have some hardware that is out of production. However, I have personally requested a custom build for a specific device that will be of your interest. Please provide a shipping address for this specialized equipment. Please note that custom hardware will take several weeks to push through the system. I will work my best to expedite this process. Your information is secure, and we will not be notifying J if you are OK with this. It is best he does not know about this very serious situation. He has some anger control issues, as you know. W."

drawbars leaves his work address in response to this.


July 18th

W answers drawbars' QX 96 that was asking for confirmation of the Milford DE system number.
"Yes, what appears to be the problem with that? That is the correct exchange. Enter tape archive number into the system. -W"

In response, drawbars leaves QX 99.
"4349. Attempts to input to the tape retrieval system on 302 725 have not been successful. Please let me know in more detail how to connect to the system."


July 23rd

drawbars leaves QX 101.
"4349. You may find agent code 50565732 to be of interest. T."

W responds.
"This is very interesting. Who is writing these messages? -W"

drawbars replies on QX 102.
"Agent Bramble. He has been communicating with the counter operatives on this number for some time."


July 24th

drawbars leaves QX 103.
"4349. Since the tape retrieval system is down, please provide the full number of the tape desk. Thank you. T."

morningcoffee leaves a voicemail on Robby's system in a text-to-speech voice.
"Aloha. We have reason to believe that there is a double agent operating within the counterop movement. This agent code may have been compromised. Be careful."

morningcoffee leaves several more "warning" messages on Robby's voicemail over the next few days.


August 1st

drawbars discovers that if you dial Controller (202 999 3337) and enter 1# as bootloader ID, it appears to make the same noise as the buzzing on the Milford DE number.


August 7th

drawbars leaves QX 107.

"4349. Agent T reporting in. The counter-operative interest in WORM activities has waned, but I have learned that a rogue agent may have warned Agent Bramble about his indiscretions. Awaiting orders on how to proceed with this very serious situation."


August 14th

drawbars leaves QX 110.

"4349. Reporting in using authorization code 4241 from the special HF message."


September 12th

drawbars leaves QX 114.

"4349. W, I have not received any shipments yet. Should I be concerned? Please let me know whether you have shipped the hardware yet. Agent T."


October 20th

There is a new black OTP message (18343) which says "THE COUNTER OPERATION HAS BEEN NEUTRALIZED. -w"


October 21st

drawbars leaves a new QX in response to W.
"4349. What is going on here? Counter operation still exists in strength. I have firsthand knowledge. Why are you claiming otherwise? Are you trying to protect yourself because you have failed to deliver on your promises? I never received the device. I am sure J will be very interested to hear this."


Unfortunately at this point after several months, it seems to be that drawbars will not be receiving any hardware and W will not be responding to our QXs anymore. We had hoped to reveal our secret mission to everyone once we had the hardware and therefore something exciting to show everyone, and get everyone involved in our "counterops" mission, but as drawbars received nothing we decided to keep waiting and keep attempting to communicate with W. We waited and waited, and several times discussed just letting everyone know the situation, but we still hoped that we may receive the special hardware. Unfortunately it seems that this "strand" of the plot is now dead and we sadly have to reveal ourselves empty-handed, apart from the (useless) tape retrieval system number that we discovered.

It would be nice if the PM would do something. So much of this ARG has gone stagnant and there's nowhere to make progress any more.
