Does anyone play guitar/have a good ear for chords? Talbots song on SoundCloud sounded odd to me. I'm wondering if the coal progression is the same as Hotel California. It's got a unique progression based off Spanish tonal history.

It's also not a great quality, so I'm wondering if there's something comprested in it?

If he's buried something in the song file, how about words that can be heard when played at a different speed or backwards? Anybody have the software for that? (Shades of Paul is Dead!)

Audacity can play things in reverse. I have it installed. Any particular place in the song we might want to examine?

Both Jenny and Talbot's FB accounts are set so you can only see mutual friends in their friends lists. Which is a little annoying. You can see nonfriends when they post (thank heavens), but can't use the friends list to quickly click onto someone.

ETA: I have a real question. people keep telling him his only way out is to sing his own songs. Someone named Jared even said "it helped Mary"

I think the whole "sing your own songs" occurred (to me, at least) when he said his head was clearer in that room and he could write his lyrics, along with the fact that as we see him get more foggy and out of it, we see more Morrison, Nirvana, etc influencing the lyrics....
I had thought I had read something about Talbot saying the music was doing something to him, but maybe I dreamed that. Still digging to cite my source, if there was one.


I think the guy that posted about "it worked for Mary" is referencing the movie "Very Annie Mary" (hitchhiker shows back up, mumbles this, leads to a movie on IMDB). Reading the synopsis, the main character is a singer who no longer sings, has to sing again, finds herself.

Oh, good thoughts Lacey! I think getting him back to his own music may be important too. But is it his old song from soundcloud? Isn't the new stuff heavily influenced by the spirits (or at least the stuff in red)? And thus maybe also tainted? Spec spec spec.

Plus whatever role this guy from the fan site might play when he gets there (ETeiltu).

How it happened: Someone posted here in this thread, and her face is painted with a Day of the Dead skull. Talbot just went crazy with the comments about how her face made him feel better and safe. So Lacey rolled with that. I was about to post a skull for him, too, and she beat me to it. She's a facepainter so I assume she posted her own work.
