Pere Lachaise, Jim Morrison, and the stolen rose

Background: Talbot stole a rose from someone's grave in Pere Lachaise and then cut his arm throwing it over the fence onto Jim Morrison's grave. The cut didn't heal and is festering and getting worse as Talbot continues on his road trip.

I asked Talbot on facebook whose grave he took the rose from, but he doesn't remember - "some French guy".

Here's a wonderfully creepy Rolling Stone article from 2009 about a photograph that appears to have captured the ghost of Morrison. The singer apparently believed strongly in the supernatural and claimed to have encountered ghosts of Native American workers after passing a highway accident in the desert as a child, where several workers had died.

It would make me really happy if the rose came from the grave of Marcel Marceau, because... mime.

(It's been forever since I've played anything, didn't know what to tag this with, so scream at me and I'll edit the subject line with the appropriate tag.)

Many of us are wondering about that - also - in one of the lyric updates - the E in desire looks like a trident/pitchfork on its side

and there are roses in his notebook doodles

Well, our Safe Word *is* "MIMEKILLER".....
Razz
He also mentions that a gypsy woman gave him a rose, sometime later after the scratch, on October 17, because he says "Crazy gypsy lady gives me a red rose. Damn, you'd think she knew! My arm is killing me."

But that's an additional rose reference there....

Maybe we should ask if he feels trapped in an invisible box? Laughing

Been participating in this mostly on Facebook, and totally forgot about UF! Embarassed

Josh Creutz posted this as a comment in Facebook, and I thought it was super-interesting and didn't see it here:

Quote:
I saw something very strange when looking into that wreak on route 66. I was trying to find some ghostly connection to that white car since Talbot thought he saw it twice. Apparently a famous wreak happend in 1955 where during a 24 hr race driver, Pierre Levegh crashed his mercedees on the 23rd hour of the race and killed 83 people and injuring several more. Pierre is buried at Père Lachaise Cemetery. I'm not sure if this is just a strange coincidence since several other famous French people are buried here. Pierre also raced for a company called Talbot-Lago. Very weird

Cool stuff! Very Happy
