Suuuuuuper interesting theory. I still believe there is a way for us to help Talbot, whether it be rescuing him from purgatory or snapping him out of a coma.

If be willing to go with the coma theory, or some out of body experience, or some other not dead thing.... But I think it starts with the car crash. I think he was in it.

I agree...the car crash, I think he was in it.

BUT...the timing is wrong. The crash was posted on the 25th, and we know he stopped talking to Amber on the 22nd.

I know she's a weirdo, but if she's helping to further his career (fan club promos, setting up gigs, etc.), wouldn't he put up with that, if it got him where he wanted? Maybe. Maybe not. (Who knows if she can really deliver what she's promised? Maybe he decided she was blowing smoke.)

Last known contact w Jenny is also on the 22nd.

That's also the day that he reports his CC no longer works and his arm is getting bad.

So is the date he posted the crash just him *remembering* the crash? Not actually the day it happened?

I have a timeline written up, mostly for my own reference. I'll post it in here though, maybe someone can put together something I've missed.

Amber: Based on his response in text to me calling her batshit crazy, I'm not so sure we should believe she is actually helping him so much as she is a stalker chick he was trying to shake off who believes she is helping him.

Jenny: kicked him out, no? I still can't make out the note, but it sure looks like she was asking him to leave.

He stole his granfather's car, doesn't surprise me his dad just him off financially. And his arm getting bad could be part of the cause of the crash - maybe he was finally getting feverish and found his desert oasis. Hotel California seems to be the only location he went to that isn't real.... I honk the curse starts when he steals that rose. But the coma (if that's what this is) not until the car crash.

Okay, I see where you're going...more of a slow process instead of a fine/not fine delineating moment.

So here's something....Just before he found the hotel, he was at Friend Ted's house, whose dad is a doctor and suggested he remain there for a couple of days because his arm looked bad.

So did he check into a hospital and only 'dream' the drive to the Hotel and events afterwards? (Of course, the hiccup here is the car wreck was posted between Ted's house and the hotel, but again, maybe a memory of it happening at a previous time, rather than posting it in real time?) *shrugs*

Or he leaves Ted's house *with* prescriptions, passes out on the drive, gets in the wreck?

Question is, how do we find him, if he's at a non-existent hotel? (Can we assume, that since Jenny and his parents haven't said anything about any contact from him that he didn't have any ID on him at the time? And if that's the case, did they ID him from the prescription bottles, and contact Ted's dad? Why didn't Ted contact Jenny/parents/etc?)

Bah. I'm talking myself out of my own theory.

I'm digging all these coma and/or dead theories, but my issue with them is, if he's dead/in a coma, how the hell is he posting on Facebook?

I guess we could just disregard the physics behind that, as Facebook (and Swarm, Twitter, etc.) are just the means of delivering the story, although it's not like we are just getting bits of story, we are also getting direct interaction.

If he's dead, I guess we could assume it's his ghost posting on social media or something... harder to come up with something for if he's in a coma.

My personal theory is that this is all happening in his mind. We are just his subconscious.
But I haven't sat down and worked out the last 2 days in my head re. the latest events with Amber.
