 		[Trailhead] Gateway to Hell
Hey all,

Been following this for a little bit, this has been on several places around 4chan's /x/ board as well as Reddit's /r/unresolvedmysteries. This totally seems to be an ARG and currently the goal we are being given is to gather people. I couldn't think of anywhere better than unfiction!

To begin, rants were posted to two conspiracy websites as well as a Halloween fansite:

According to the owner of Halloween Love, more and more e-mails were sent pushing GatewayToHell.org. The owner ignored them, until a "sizable donation" was donated to her on the 16th and she played along:

That page also contains a good write up, for anyone not interested in mine.

Originally the author of Halloween Love brushed it off as viral marketing for a movie, but comments were later posted on their comments section by someone named "Sebastien", claiming the use of images on GatewayToHell.org was illegal and GatewayToHeaven.org was the real deal. Herbert L. Wallace responded (this is the same name as the Above Top Secret poster) with threats.

The owner of Halloween Love claims that they were contacted by lawyers and told to delete the comments due to "abusive and libelous content".

Through some clever website design, players found mined the coordinates: 42.523046 and -70.889774. A reddit user visited these coordinates but found nothing.

The GatewayToHell website was then updated and contained a link to a Coordinate to Address converter. When inputting the coordinates we were given the address to Hawthorne Hotel in Salem. Once the owner of the site knew we accessed the converter, the page was edited to redirect us to the eBay category for "Scythes and Sickles" and the source code contained 13 spaces in a group of 4, 2, 7.

Redditors asked nicely and were given access to room 427, where they found page 666 was torn out of the Bible in the room.

After the visit to the room, GatewayToHell updated again. elizabeth.txt was found. Someone replaced the X's in the phone number with 6s, and received a recorded message:

"Power in numbers. You'll need to work together in numbers moving forward. When the strength and dedication of the top group is made apparent, there will be further contact."

On November 24th, the person who first called the phone number received a text message:

"You've passed the first test, cognisance. Second, a test in organisation. There will be no further fragmentation, everyone from all smaller groups will join together here:

meetup.com/gateway-to-truth-army.

The next series of tests will be about dedication. The final test will be of strength. The time for childish games and make-believe is over. From this point forward things will become more dangerous. >Drop out now or move forward with full dedication. If we don't recruit enough soldiers, we fail. If we don't treat each other with respect and camaradarie, we fail. If instructions aren't followed, we fail."

(typos were intentional)

On this meetup group was an announced event titled "Assignment I", dated for December 1st.

For an unknown reason, Meetup decided to close the group with no warning. For several days we had silence, until I had the idea to text the phone number in character and to my shock, I had a reply within 15 minutes:

Upon sending this address an e-mail, I was invited to a Slack.com group called Gateway To Truth, which so far contains the message:

"Spread the word to your brothers and sisters to email gatewaytotruthorgSPLATgmail.com so that we may invite them to our new safehouse.

We have to be much more careful than I first realized.

Assignment I will still be coming as scheduled."

And so that brings us to today!

CURRENT GOAL/MISSION:

Send an e-mail to gatewaytotruthorgSPLATgmail.com so you may be invited to the "soldiers" group.

Wait until December 1st.

CURRENT MYSTERIES/PUZZLES:

Who is/what happened to Elizabeth?

What is the significance of love.mp3? (This was determined to be "Look at Your Game Girl" sung by Charles Manson by reddit)

Why are we being asked to kill sebastien? (Note - this is the name that was used to post the GatewayToHeaven comment on Halloween Love and assumedly is the owner of GatewayToHeaven.org)

What is the significance of the image sent to Halloween Love? (This is extremely important - the PM donated a "sizable" amount of real money to get it posted specifically on this website)

What is going to be our first assignment on December 1st?

 		There is currently a subreddit. I can open up a subdomain on one of my websites, if we want? Would only take an hour or so to whip up a Wordpress and a forum...

I also downloaded love.mp3 and put it in Audacity. Nothing stood out to me in any of the Waveform or Spectogram views.

 		In case anyone is interested, almost everything is happening in the Slack group now. And by "almost everything," I mean waiting until 12:00 EST tonight (tomorrow morning).

Oh, and the doors in gatewaytohell.org/hell have been determined to be from a castle in Prague. We haven't found anything really important, though.


EDIT: MuMu, I see you're new. Did you replace the "SPLAT" with an at sign? Unfiction has a filter.

 		Gatekeeper (the owner of the Slack room/PM) just warned us to not open other channels, so we know they are around! Highly suggest jumping into the chat and sticking around, we're almost certain to be getting our "assignment" at midnight (or very shortly after).

...Of course, also entirely possible we're getting way too excited and it was a total coincidence, but we'll see!

Or, at least, it probably is. Gatekeeper created a new chatroom-thing and has posted a discussion question for us all to comment on.

What's your username in slack? I can check for you.

Also, I am trying to join the Circulus Keep church, just to see what happens. I also have another "character" inside the regular group.

Edit: My name in the group is "Nicole." I hope the PMs are good enough not to use this against me.
