Okay, so there was discussion in the Angora Chat the other night about the Voyeur/Firebrand/Guardian labels as they apply to the three EMH protagonists, and I stumbled upon a HABIT quote from "" that pretty much conclusively states who is who.

Do we know for sure they're still using the prophesy angle?

Can I touch on the tulpa business that was mentioned on the last page? This will be kind of scattered, but let's just call it vintage EMH speculation, 'kay?

Now. I don't think HABIT or Slender Man are tulpas, but HABIT might be trying to create one. The basic idea behind the tulpa is that it exists because enough people believe it exists, right? HABIT seems to be trying to get us to think along a certain path; maybe he's trying to make something. Or make something happen. Like, he want's things to go a certain way, but that's only possible if we make it possible, by believing in the reality he's trying to create.

Or, I had a thought: we still don't really know what the relationship between HABIT and Slendy is. This could be HABIT's way of getting some leverage on him. Like, the Slender Man isn't a tulpa, but if enough people believe he is, he'll become a tulpa. I imagine that would give HABIT a huge advantage over him. Or maybe it's an even deeper meta-game: HABIT wants everyone to think he's a tulpa that'll dry up and blow away if we ignore him, so they (we) will focus on that, instead of looking into real counter-measures that might actually work.

So, if Vinnie wants us all to stop watching, why is he still uploading videos? Is he hoping to mislead us, or is it just out of...


...habit?

Lame jokes aside, what is the purpose of keeping the channel going if he's going to tell us to stop watching? If we are dealing with Tulpas, and the way to deal with them is getting us to stop watching, why doesn't Vinnie just stop uploading things for us to watch? Is he afraid HABIT will just take control of the channel and will upload things anyway? Or is something else going on?

An observation on that "second set of ears.wav" file:

On a whim I opened it in a Hex Editor to see if there was any plaintext embedded in the static. There wasn't any I could find, but something odd caught my eye; the static was composed of nothing but repeating pairs of characters. (i.e. a pattern like "ABABCDCDEFEFGHGH...")

I checked a few other audio files and didn't see this same pattern occurring. Does someone with more knowledge of .WAV files have any idea why this repetition is present, or if it means anything?

I just had a thought, and it's pretty dark. It ties into several theories.

First, I have to tell you about a Wild Mass Guess about the Slender Man I read at TV Tropes: he exists as long as someone knows about him, and so kills everyone who knows about him so he can die in peace (or stop existing).

Now. Remember the Iteration Theory? And Vinny's revelation that they "aren't real"? What if Vinny's realized that he, Jeff, Evan, and Steph are trapped in a perpetual cycle along with HABIT and Slendy, doomed to live and die over and over again, forever. Because they're not real. Maybe it's HABIT's doing; bringing them back over and over to see how many different scenarios he can play out. And Slender Man keeps coming back and killing them over and over, not understanding why they won't just stay dead like everyone else... And it keeps happening, because someone (us this time, the doctors in the previous cycle, who knows before that) is observing, watching, making... the HYBRIDS are tulpas. Whether it's more HABIT shenanigans or an experiment by Slendy, or someone (or thing) we haven't seen yet, they continue to exist because we're making them. And Vinny realized the only way to stop the cycle was for the four of them to stop existing (as opposed to dying and respawning like they have been for god knows how long). And that can only happen if we all stop watching, stop thinking about them, etc. So he puts out that message. And HABIT runs interference, because his game would be ruined and he'd have to find new toys to play with. And if Evan really is his 'perfect host', I very much doubt HABIT would let him disappear into the ether...
