It won't be a continuation, it's unknown if it's set in the same universe. Their new series is going to be posted to the MH channel for convenience so it can get to fans easier.

Refer to the Reddit AMA THAC did a few months ago.
They confirmed nothing and dodged questions regarding it's (possible) place in the MH universe and it's place in the MH timeline if the previous proves to be true. All we know is the new series will be broadcasted on the MH channel. But they have stated it will not be centered around TO.
All Joseph said was "Just wait and see."
