ARG, Recruitment, or some insane person?
Imgur Photo

Found this on the new section of Imgur. Is it an ARG or recruitment program of some sort?

Hello...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
That's hexadecimal. Convert those numbers to text will give you a series a octal numbers. Then convert the octal numbers to text to get your next clue...

Okay, so some progress that hasn't been put here. Converting the numbers in the pastebin from hexadecimal to text gives a series of octal numbers and upon changing those to text reveals this: r/n01108

I recognized that as a subreddit, and upon visiting the subreddit (reddit.com/r/n01108) There was only one post. Converting the main post from octal to text gives a binary sequence and upon converting that to text reveals this message: WHEN DOES THE RABBIT HOLE END?
LCARROLL GUTENBERG P25L35/36
1MONTH

The other two comments on the post made by the original poster are: newsyyyodhfssnviqwlbjnyqibxaeytcuy.kumetgn.bij
and a series of hexa numbers which convert to: TITLEOFJPG

The rabbit hole message I realized is a hint towards the gutenberg project, a site where older ebooks can be downloaded legally for free. This refers to Lewis Carroll, writer of Alice in Wonderland and other famous books. I think this refers to page 25 line 35 and 36 of that ebook.

I haven't decoded the one comment, and that seems important.

Yeah - I got to the same stage as you.

What do you think the "1MONTH" comment refers to?

Hmm, maybe the next step isn't for a month? Either way, we probably have to decode that one string, and actually find what we're looking for on gutenberg. The book is definitely alice in wonderland, as it referenced the rabbit hole, said LCARROLL, and the title of the post was alice.

found this from another website:

Quote:
A reference to the Gutenberg project and Alice in Wonderland (the post is titled "alice")? The PDF's 25th page, lines 35 and 36 read:

'If everybody minded their own business,' the Duchess said in a hoarse growl, 'the world
would go round a deal faster than it does.'

i suppose its a dead end of sorts, but i guess we wont know until a month from now?

On the Gutenberg project website you can search "Alice in Wonderland" and order by release date. Assume we have to wait until around the 20th March 2015 for a new release of the same book??

I found out today that "Alice..." is 150 years old this year.

Coincidence? Probably. But, food for thought...

It's been bugging since I played it....

...those guitar chords (from the title of the YouTube page): DABminF#minGDGA

...it's Canon in D Major (or "Pachelbel's Canon") by Johann Pachelbel

ROCK! Rock On
