mmm.. halo-y goodness.. almost 3 hours just playing with weapon selections and level choices for multiplayer.. that, and owning with the energy sword.. yes, sleep is the time now, for tomorow, my Personal copy arrives, and I shall lock away in a dark room, sustained by the cool blue glow. and by sugar.

I had to put it down... I'm hungry.
This game is unbelieveable. I am extremely impressed with everything thus far. I'm a little disoriented because I don't have dual wielding mastered yet, but... I'm speechless.
I'm also in love with the plasma sword.

THE SWORD ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In multiplay though, if you are fighting someone with it, just leave plenty of room to back up, and they are fairly easy pickings with a steady barrage of bullets. In tight quarters, though. WOW!

haven't tried multiplayer, yet, other than at the training exercise last week, but single player roxxorz my boxxorz! I didn't really care for the 1st level, but once I got planetside, holy cow! It's so freakin' awesome. I got pissed when some of my cover got blown away, though... consider yourself warned; there's at least some destructible terrain that won't protect you for long!
I think the hunters are tougher this time around. I guess it could be that I'm not sticking the 'nades well enough yet (still a little rusty), but it seems like it takes a lot more for the hunters to go down now.
There's a new gun on the warthog that I like a lot. It's not quite a rocket launcher, I don't think... it's more like a small tank cannon. But don't worry the chain gun is still there.
I haven't been able to pull off a vehicle jack, yet, but I've been jacked. that was cool, if infuriating.

I could have written that post. Except I think the years of telling my wife that "Christmas presents can't be opened until Christmas" is finally going to bite me hard in the ass. Is it possible to wait another month and a half or will I explode like so many Flood hosts?

Is anyone playing the game on a HDTV? Specifically 480p widescreen? There are some reports around that there's a problem when you use 480p, with some portion of the screen getting chopped off.
The widescreen issue is more serious (to me). It seems that when you're playing split screen, the screen is split vertically only, with no option to split it horizontally. Even though I have a widescreen tv, splitting horizontally makes so much more sense to me ...

Ouch man....that hurts.
I just had my friend call me at work to tell me how awesome the game is. He's been up since midnight madness playing. This was the same friend who, when I bought Halo 1, I played co-op with from noon till 4AM straight.

Ok so I got the game at midnight played until 3:30 and was up at 6 and made it to work... But:
Has anyone read through the "Conversations from the universe " booklet that is in the Special Edition box? There is a letter in there that not only uses a new form of covenent letters but is spelled very poorly... anyone translate the whole thing yet ?
Please give my poor eyes/mind a rest... it's almost painful to read.

Make a puzzle thread about it. Someone'll have it solved tomorrow, I guarantee it.
