aaaaaand this thread is officially derailed. my bad i guess. i guess im the only one that sees Tim as a clear tta user. Lets get back to 44. I will further the argument on an appropriate thread.

I think we could get some new hints today to finish the therearefootsteps webpagemessages

Is it? Or is it on the clearest, straightest rails it's ever been on?

Anyway, well done.

No one's saying that Tim wasn't a TTA user if by that you mean he was involved in or with TTA. A lot of us are saying that it is not at all clear that he was the only user for each of the entries you cite as evidence. Some of us (DHawk at least, and I think DHawk's right) are questioning whether Tim as Masky really could have made the videos at all. The Masky personality isn't known for dexterity and for finesse work. He's more like an enforcer, like a big bruiser. He doesn't even punch straight--he charges in and just sort of flails in fury. Masky's also under someone's influence and also possibly been recently exposed to TO, as in Entry #18 he had a seizure after attacking Jay. What isn't clear is how much of the time as Masky that Tim is conscious of, let alone remembers. But does Masky look like the kind of guy who could do more with a camera than bash someone in the nose with it? Never mind all the bizarre expressionist shit in those videos.

Masky and Hoody were both part of TTA during season 1. Season 2, well season 2 started the day after Tim saved Jay, then in in 53 Tim says he's getting better, so I guess he dropped out after the events of 52. Buuuut then in 33 and 76 we see him as Masky... so it's kinda hard to tell when he got better. Season 3 however, TTA was only Hoody.

Anyway, hope we get something. I got my email 6 days after, and I emailed the day after the email address went up. Was thinking that the emails and clues may be a weekly thing.[/i]

That is what I was thinking too. I say if we don't get anything new within the next 2 days, we missed something. If it happens, we should look at the {'s and see what significance they hold other than their being 88 of them.

I'm fairly certain we did miss something. But in terms of DScott's email, he said he'd be back by DD/MM/YYYY, what if that message was written a long time ago and the day he'd be back by has passed? Hence why it's just a template now. Mybe he possibly had a date in mind that he would be back by and he never made it back

Here's why I say that the email is a danger flag or even some kind of hack by whoever has been hacking the Marble Hornets dot com site and even (ha ha) THAC's con presentation.

Where I work I have an out of office template set up that I've composed that can be easily altered to the particular need to be absent (vacation, illness, emergency, etc.). I leave a space for the date and plug in the figures accordingly. Others have the date in some blank format such as the DD/MM/YYYY here. The strange thing is that most email providers save the previous date (at least Outlook does). So there should have been an actual date.

So, my thoughts are that D. Scott's been hacked and possibly is in danger or dead, and that this was posted by someone else. It doesn't look like an interrupted message. It looks like an intercepted message or more likely a deliberate message. Why it took six days to respond thus is also strange.

http://marblehornets.com/welcome

It changed. Says 'please leave' which is clickable. Clicking it goes to the main page.

Thats actually hilarious if you think about it. I feel like they forgot that page existed and when we found out about it they were like 'crap we have to remove this page what should we do???"

Exactly. I was thinking the message would be automated either due to DScott selecting an inactive status on his account before leaving, or due to the account detecting in activity and generating the template assuming DScott would have supplied a date earlier. Not sure if anyone here is a manga/anime fan, but I was thinking something similar to L's timer in Death Note. If DScott is a paranormal investigator as some have speculated, it's reasonable to assume he would set up a contingency in case something happened to him or he wasn't able to access a computer.

Haha, good save THAC. I'd agree that they forgot about that, but having the line "please leave" on a page called welcome is hilariously ironic. I love it.

From the main page a cast and crew section is now available - revealing, for the first time, several people's surnames. Check it out.

That picture of Alex looks... off. Like the background is hiding something. Using a handy tool to look at the exif data (you may find you have to save the image to your hard drive and upload it rather than using the URL), it looks like it's been mucked about with in photoshop somehow - evidently earlier this month. Some sort of stereogram, maybe?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this time we have confirmation of Alex's FULL birthday (4/4/1986)? That seems significant, though I don't know how (maybe 04041986).

And, yeah, about the photo--the possible hidden thing, and also Alex has an expression there that reminds me of what someone said about the TV anchorman Dan Rather: That he always looks as if there're a couple of guys with AK-47s off to the side holding him hostage.

From the tool you linked (I'm not knowledgable enough about tech shit to decode the specs, but I was able to run the URL), the photo was taken 03/16/2010 (that's two weeks before TO returned and attacked Alex and Amy) on a Sony HDR-SR5 (a camcorder), and was modified on the 11th of this month. That's about the limit of my understanding, so sorry if that's not that helpful.

One thing that I found very strange was how it was all written in third person, but then when it says Alex's likes it says my dog rocky, so is there going to be some subtle hint that they're part of the same universe with that little reference?

Also, would a Dr Warren (the cinematography lecturer) be familiar? What significance could the character of Celia in the play "As You Like It" be? They're not going to specifically mention things like that for no reason, even if that reason does turn out to be a red herring.

With the curly bracket things on the different page ( /therearefootsteps ) , the fact that they're all open leads me to believe that maybe there's another page where whey close? Would someone be able to write a program where it goes through all the site extensions that are, say, within 20 characters long and then just spits out the extensions that don't lead to that error page?

AK is probably meant to be Alex Kralie. He's dead though so I wonder why he'd be updating the page.

I never played ilovebees but didn't it have something to do with like time traveling through a website? Wierd that all these old pages are being restored.

I'm not saying like "this series will be scifi and have time travel"

but I wonder if there's a purpose for the hacker(?) to be putting these pages up, if it's an external phenomenon (like an eldric website restoring itself but not exactly, i dunno if that makes sense) or if we're supposed to just sit back and watch

oog
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
or if it's just general hype for the new series and they weren't sure how else to go about it than "hey let's restore these old pages and remind you of older characters"
