 		In college, you also have people who want to make it KNOWN, and UNDERSTOOD that they know MORE than you, will know it FASTER than you, and you are something they scrape from their shoes after a walk through the quad.

I'd rather deal with grinders on a day to day basis than that for the rest of my life. I've chosen my friends carefully through the years to be the kind of intellectuals I like to have around me.

 		Perhaps. I just have a certain kind of revulsion for people who drag you down to a lower level under the guise of communicating about "higher" things.

I kinda makes me think thats what happens when nerds and geeks go to the Dark Side. Many of us learned to associate well and gain self esteem after the young/teen angst of being geeky, and we get people like all of you guys. But some turned their geekiness inward, and wage war against the world. Geeks of the Dark Side.Razz

It takes a little while to pick up the technique, but generally they don't actually know what they're talking about and all you have to do is help them reveal their ignorance to the public at large. I've found that asking innocent-seeming questions (with breathy uncertainty and fluttering eyelashes) and then, when they've dug their hole, sweetly pushing them into it to work best, but you might have to think up something different because you're a guy.

My personal favorite was the guy who thought he'd insult me in Latin.

I got to correct his grammar.

When you are speaking from a high horse, it is a good idea to remember that a preposition is a terrible thing to end a sentence with.
