Haha, no problem. I was the slowest of all 3 of us today, so I was just comparing what I had typed.

Interesting. The MANIFESTO pin used to wait for 2 numbers, but only 54 did anything. The other 99 options just restarted the AAA loop. Not that I typed all 100 or anything...
Now it seems like it's waiting for 4 digits, but 54 and 59 have their own responses (voicemail for ABDV and "nada").
It's probably not a coincidence that 59 works given today's tweet, but 'nada' isn't really much. I also tried dialing 59 hardheaded-ly, whatever that means. Still getting nada.

Hi players,
Just letting you know that I moved this back out of the News & Rumors archive. If things continue to chug along and you feel that a separate forum would be of more benefit (allowing for splitting of this thread, or starting new ones) just send me a message.

The last 2 have been distorted/blurred differently than previous ones. I've been trying to work on it with various tweaks, but the doubling effect gets to me fast so I can't look at it long.

Alright well thanks for trying anyway. I've posted the blurry one to reddit anyway to see what we can get translated from it. It's worked with everything else so far.

Got a reply really quickly. Translation from reddit
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
財部海相 - Minister of the Navy (Takeshi) Takarabe
軽卒 - could mean 'careless.' or somesuch.
EDIT: I found where this has been lifted from. It's an old article in the asahi. http://www.ndl.go.jp/modern/guidance/images/11.jpg
「事こ、に至った原因は財部海相の軽卒から」 A rough translation of the headline would be "The cause of the accident was due to Minister for the Navy Takarabe's carelessness"

That's great that it was found so quickly. It makes the green Japanese more clear now too.
Since it is a new day, perhaps it is worth being 'hardheaded' and trying the twitter message at the phone line again. There seems to be a trend of input numbers not yeilding results one day then working the next. It could be a time of day issue too since the PM seems to be in Australia. Still pondering the first half of it though.

More translation from our friends on Reddit.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There is more to it but I'm not confident I could translate it all. 「海相の本壯(?)記者への言明で兵相〇く明るみへ」 There are characters I can't quite make out or can't recognise. Maybe someone else can do a better job.
EDIT: As for the second part I'll type it out and see if I can make sense of it. It is on your image as well as the newspaper clipping.
「義務教育費増額案、貴院通過の見込立つ」
"Compulsory education fee increase information, chances are in favour of (it) passing through the house of peers"
「議長指名の特別委員十五名」
"Chairperson selects 15 for special committee"
「政府に有利の額〇」
Unfortunately without the last kanji I can't really translate this all that well.
Newspaper is from the 9th of May 1930 if that helps at all.

Found a pin!!!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1930 is a pin since its the date from the article! It says "you have 1 transcription" then rattles off letters.
I'm currently at work and can't work on it more now. I'll do it when I get home if someone else doesn't first.

Here's a fun page about Takarabe that came up by image searching WhatIsTruth's picture.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The article is captioned "Navy Minister TAKARABE's imprudence brought about this mess
Tokyo Asahi Shinbun, 9 May 1930 (Showa 5) evening"
Nice! We have a date. The newspaper archives were a bit of a hassle and I still can't get the pdf out of it, but I took a higher-res screenshot. LINK
If anyone wants to try to get the pdf or look at even higherer-res, start here . Click the big green button and then the second tab (1879-1989). Type 1930, 5, and 9 into the date (like this ). Then click the second entry, which is for "Tokyo" and "Evening Edition" (this one ). Tada!
Now, hopefully someone can determine if it's actually related to Fumizuki or not. Fingers crossed that I didn't just spend my lunch on Japanese newspaper archives for nothing. =P
Edit: Haha, nice job WhatIsTruth. I'm guessing that the 1930 pin was all the article was for.

Is anyone able to pull a recording of the letters from the call? I don't have a means to call it myself unfortunately.

I'll do it in about an hour when I'm off work if no one does before then. I'll try and transcribe it too. Shouldn't take too long since it's letters.
EDIT: added recording of the call
EDIT2: TP/EMOBGXATW/NTPUH/LFDQE/B/PCFPVBE/XLOH/UTMGMW/NTVWZ/SMLBHU/VOOSP/HOEHMAUH/NTPUH/?/UJUHK/NTPUH
That's my transcription of the call. Question mark is the 1 part I couldn't make out

I took another recording to see if I could get the unknown letter. It sounds a lot like "up" or maybe L? There are enough differences that there might be different outputs when called.
Your transcription:
TP/EMOBGXA TW/NTPUH/LF DQE/B/PCFPV BE/XLOH/UTMGM W/NTV WZ/SMLBHU/VOOS P/HOEHMAUH/NTPUH/?/UJUHK/NTPUH
Mine (of your recording):
TP/EMOBGXD TW/NTPUH/LM DQE/B/PCFPV BE/XLOH/UTMGM W/NTB WZ/SMLBHU/VLO- P/HOEHMAUH/NTPUH/?/UJUHK/NTPUH
Mine (of my recording):
TP/EMOBGXD TW/NTPUH/LF DQE/B/PCSTD BE/XLOH/UTMGF W/NTB WZ/SMLBHU/VOOS P/HOEHMAUH/NTPUH/?/UJUHK/NTPUH
Some of these differences (like STD/FPV) actually sound like different letters in the two different recordings.

Scratch that, I figured it out. It's connected to the forecast puzzle, but I think sharing it in the open might turn out badly.
PM me for infos. ;D

I copied the video off YouTube and I thought I would post it here but it doesn't seem to want to let me. Is there somewhere else I can put it or does someone else want to copy it and host it somewhere? (I have it as an FLV and a MP4)
It seems that there were other videos in the past but they are now gone from YouTube which means we can't re-analyse them. I am trying to learn the techniques of solving these puzzles and it is difficult when puzzles are completed but it is not explained how they were defeated.
So on the topic of the video, I believe it is referring to the "All about the roundabout" MP3 from the listening station. All that talk about linguistics and how confusing it is and analyzing it. Any thoughts?
