Well, if we want to try base 36, then:

29........T
7..........7
2..........2
2..........2
8..........8
26........Q
22........M
9..........9
11........B
14........E
13........D

youtube.com/watch?v=T722BQM9BED

just using a simple base 36 converter from google.

EDIT: I don't think this one is right. I just looked at a dozen youtube urls to find that none of them have that many numbers let alone 3 adjacent to one another. Could be wrong though. Im trying all the case combos for this one regardless

Yeah I was tired. Same concept but base 36

In your youtube link you made the 8 a B

But I agree, it may have too many numbers

oh youve got to be kidding me hahaha. i spent quite some time trying different cases. oh well. And it might just be coincidence. I just clicked on a bunch more youtube videos and eventually found a link with 4 adjacent numbers

In this, there are 11 rows, and 36 characters per row. if we wanna get our precious 44 into this thing, we can evenly split each row into 4 groups of 9 characters. (11x36=396. 396/44=9, since 36/4=9)

000000000 000100000 000000000 000000000

I am interested in the fact that there is only one "1" per row. Perhaps we are supposed to discard the "0" blocks and just look at those containing 1s? Then we have:

010000000
000000100
010000000
010000000
000000010
000000010
000100000
000000001
010000000
000010000

Or alternately: 11 lines each split into 4 groups of 9 numbers gives us a 11x4 grid - a grid with 44 locations (each block of 9 numbers being a "square" on the grid). So let's plot out where the "1s" are in this grid:

0001
1000
1000
1000
1000
0010
0010
1000
0100
0100
0100

Is there any substantial content for the new series yet? Or is it still just ARG stuff with that production blog?

That's pretty much it. There some eMails 3 months ago, some "hidden" sites on marblehornets.com with some images and stuff, and the "behind the scenes" trailer that send us to marblehornets.com in the beginning.
Apperently there was a new teaser shown at a recent con, but from the blurry youtube footage I saw, it wasn't significantly differant in style from the first one.

Are we all just going to ignore the random dot thats in the middle of the first line? There's no way that THAC would throw that in there and have it just be a typo...

Wait...what?

I'm 99,99% sure that this dot wasn't there a couple of days ago. Maybe Troy figured we need some help to solve this?

A dot after the 26th digit, leaving 10 digits left in that row. Since we have 396 digits in total, we don't can use as marker to make combinations of 10 pairs.
And this would be used as a hint that you have to only use either the first 10 or the last 10 digits of a line, then there are a lot of lines that would still be zero. (There are too few 1s in this.) However, the results of that would be:

128
8
256
256
4
0
0
2
0
0
0

So, I guess this is nothing.
Maybe this not so much a code but rather some sort coordinate?
Or maybe we should try to bring the 44 brackets and dots we have from the previous sides into this?

Had to make a new account as I haven't been on the forum in years, but felt I had valuable input on this particular puzzle. With the decimal point added, each line is divided into a series of 26, then 10. From previous totheark puzzles, we know how much THAC love variations on the simple 1:1 1=A cypher, and I doubt the number 26 is ever a coincidence. This would give us the choice of a 1 landing in either the first 26 spaces in a line, signifying a letter A-Z, or in the last 10, signifying a digit 0-9 (or 1-0).

I'm on my phone, so I can't guarantee I counted accurately, but that gave me 2gbbhzviknm. This doesn't work on youtube or on the MH site, but it's probably a slightly more complex cypher with more to figure out.

In addition, the page's title is 'dyhf?' I'm taking this to mean 'did you have fun?', but who knows what significance it actually has.

@Mountain Goat

I actually thought of that earlier, but dismissed it rather quickly because its just a backwards base 36 and it seemed weird.

I think they just added it because there is something out there that we didn't get yet. And I think THAC wants us to find it because it progresses the story. I think it is a youtube video.

This looks more and more like a youtube url. We should put all our efforts into that. Im pissed i didn't bother to try it.

youtube.com/watch?v=2gbbhzviknm

that looks better than what we had before. Less numbers=more likely a url for youtube vid

I'm also thinking about the /therearefootsteps image; there are 12 digits in its tag, and we have 11 lines. It's possible that one modifies the other. For example, the 12-digit set, being all numbers, could be an indication to shift the lines to the left or right a certain amount of spaces.

I didn't like the youtube url idea at first, but now I start to dig that. The otherwise rather uneventful location scouting video would be a hint directly towards that. The actual video would then be a red herring, with the important information being: Hey, there are unlisted videos uploaded on the marble hornets channel...find the link!

I also like the idea to tie in the therearefootsteps number. Not because I'm sure if dyhf? translates to "do you hear footsteps?", but rather because I was unsatisfied with the "it means 'when left'" solution to that number.

I have no idea, but am intrigued by your ideas.

on THAC, ive been trying to get some sort of cipher to determine which characters are uppercase and lower case. dyhf? That could be the hint. Either with the therearefootsteps page, dscotts emails, or this new video.

Its interesting, there are 10 shots in the video, one for each character. dyhf? DID you hear footsteps? Trying to find a pattern in the videos with footsteps/something that footsteps might just represent.
