Making a convincing Rake
NOT THE WOODEN KIND

I havent found a thread with advice to making a convincing The Rake.

I've only found how to make a convincing faceless. stretch armstrong in a business suit.

so... need some help with this one.

I'd recommend purchasing a full body morphsuit, combining that with a halloween mask of some kind, and blurring or distorting your footage. Of course, I've never had to make a Rake before considering my series is only about the Slender Man thus far, but I'm getting this from what I've seen of WhisperedFaith and EMH.

I saw the topic and figured I'd throw my hat in the ring since I did the Rake a few times in my series StanFrederickBTS.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
What I did for my Rake was, I wore a white morphsuit with two black sheets of construction paper over my eyes as the Rake's empty eyes. Any of the footage that was shot with the Rake in it was either shot from far away, or blurred close-up. Then, in After Effects, whenever I wanted the Rake to speak or to move his mouth, I animated a black solid over where the mouth would be and tracked it to the subject.

Distortion and blurring is a great way to hide the fact that you're essentially in a full-body suit. It makes the creature a little more mysterious and creepy too.

Hope this helps!
