88 upd8

Callum just updated that the 88 will be launching a snazzy new website on Friday! Very Happy Eager to see what the application will ask.

Website is here. Career Opportunities are at http://crescent123.wix.com/okdek-ok#!vacancies/galleryPage (and no, I don't know why the URL tags choke on that octothorpe Mad ).

Hidden login, requiring a password, accessed by clicking on the constellation (I think it's Scutum the Shield, but wouldn't bet a lot of money on it) on the Contact page at http://crescent123.wix.com/okdek-ok#!contact/ct07

Shad0 - when links won't work, use http://www.tinyurl.com

Also, is anyone applying for any of the positions on the "88" website yet? If so, which one?

I'll update my current status in a few hours when I have time to put everything together.

So I filled out an application for the information gathering position a couple of days ago, and got this response last night:

Quote:
Hi please don't tell anyone in sending this but everyone is out of the office right now so no one is able to respond. They'll send you a test soon but it's just me and I've only recently started!

Not sure if there's anything to it, has anyone else gotten a response yet or submitted an application? The only thing that I can think of is, why is everyone else out of the office? Maybe there's some significance to that?

I've had a few exchanges with her since then... and I received the tests for both jobs in an email this evening. Let me know if you want me to go into more detail.

Ormsbury? Ormsby?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The 88 company description talks about Andrew Ormsbury, MD, the second-in-command, and the email posted earlier is from OrmsbySPLATgmx? Is that anything? (Sorry if I'm going over stuff that's already been discussed!)

Password?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The constellation Scutum is in the Hercules family, which you can see written backwards in Callum's FB profile pic. I tried Hercules and Selucreh as passwords for the hidden login on the 88 company site, but no such luck.

Super late to the game. Sent application to Andrew Ormsbury for the Data Analysis position (his name is listed on his email as Andrew Ormsby?)

Got two "tests" back, one for the Data Analysis position and one for the Information Gathering position. Filled them both out. The email also read as follows:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hi - no-one's here at the moment - though, from what was said before they went - they're probably going to be back tomorrow?
Sorry I'm new here and its very late - - since that wine though I've not been sleeping properly - was speaking about it to someone else - couldn't believe its going so quickly. Soon it'll be Sunday!
Oh - the forms - sorry - here you go - sorry tests - this voice recoding thing no recording RECORDING app on the computer doesn't really recognise my voice- probably because I've not got a deep voice like Mr Ormsby.
Where the hell do I click now I'm recording. Oh damn its still recording recording off off damn it please stop recording what I'm saying oh attach file and

The assessments do state not to discuss these tasks with anyone.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Side note, the bottom of each assessment page says, "Presi por intervjuo por taksi bazo lerteco kaj interpretativo proceduro. Certigu kandidato estas metita en ĉambro naŭkontroli por subliminal enpenetro kaj subkonscia programado." Which translate from Esperanto into something like:

"Print for an interview to assess basic skills and interpretive procedure . Make sure a candidate is placed in room nine check for subliminal infiltrations and subconscious programming."

No luck on the Scutum login either. I sent a message through the contact page of the 88 website asking about the significance of Scutum.

I got the same message yesterday.

Applications - part 2

I've been working on the Data Analyst test:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It seems to me that some of the questions aren't actually tests, like the "which friend would commit a crime for you" question, for example. I think these are just meant to get a sense of your continued commitment. However, some of the questions could be interpreted as tests, like the tarot question and the symbols. I've answered both of those and I'm confident I've got the correct answer. I'm struggling with the list of words though. I thought maybe they all had to do with senses (sight, touch, etc.), but that's not a perfect fit. Four of the five words have Latin origins, but one comes from Greek. I'm a bit stumped.

I'm not sure there is a correct answer to any of the questions. I think they're meant to see if you can think outside of the box. At least that was my assumption.

Also, I had asked the person answering through Ormsby's email if they were his assistant and I received this response:

Quote:
Hi - Sorry - yes I am - he needed soemone to manage his affairs while he and the rest of the staff were out - I'm only level 1 so not relaly sure twhats goign on really!
but all i n all thnigs are gogd.
sorry chosen to type thiss rather than the speaking thing beeecausee of the tiredness in my hed and neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So I guess everyone is still out of the office. This person is his assistant. He/she is level 1/new. And... whoever they are seems to be in some sort of trouble.

Edit: Not sure who, if anyone, I should contact. Asked and received this response.

Thanks!

I'm going to send in my tests and see what pops up. Smile
