MUST....GET....TO SLEEP. I picked up my game at midnight last night and have played it for (no joke) 17 hours straight. 5:00pm here. My xbox needs a rest and my eyes are about to pop out of my head. Awesome game. I beat the single player campaign before I played online. I just can't pry myself away from this game.

I know i'm asking for a bit of a spoiler, but I just need to know one thing (I won't be able to get the game for several months yet, money is a silly thing like that) is there ANY appearance of ILB related characters in Halo 2?
be sure to spoiler tag it.
and i want an answer from someone who has played it through or read the guide, not spec if you please.

Coral is in the "Conversations from the Universe" booklet:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There's a section where an archeaologist on Coral is writing home to his family; apparently they found a Forerunner artifact there...

sort of possibly spoiler time re: are there any ILB references:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There are no ILB references I noticed in playing through, though I did it quickly.
Also not really a spoiler, but more my opinion on the ending:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
WTF?!?! I thought my xbox was surely broken and missed a level or something.... this cliffhanger better get resolved. and soon.

there Is the (faint) possibility of a XBL Content Update. possibly. maybe.
Its been used to add new maps, music, cars( and bugs-fixes? ) for some other games. that could be why they tagged in the free 2 months on XBL, or does Every XBL enabled game come with that?

I played the game for ~5-6 hours yesterday. Campaign only and I'm having a blast! It's as good as the first one, which is saying a lot!
Although I agree that the pistol was overpowered on the first game, it was still my weapon of choice most of the time! So I'm readjusting! I'm not good at dual wielding at all, mostly because I suck at aiming when holding both triggers (I use southpaw)! This will get some practice to get used to!
I think that the disapointed people were expecting too much or didn't like the first game that much.

The dual wielding is so cool, but then I keep wanting to throw grenades.

I think my favorite duel-wielding weapons are the Plasma Pistol and the SMG (this wrecks people, powered up plams hits, then they get chewed byt the SMG) and two SMGs (just alternate the trigger pulls and you don't get the recoil problem, just a steady stream of bullets. With the plasma pistol and the magnum, you can get the one headshot kill.
I have to say, my favorite new weapon is the Carbine. It's almost as good as the pistol in Halo 1.

The store I work at has been letting people play Halo 2 MP since midnight it came out. We've topped over 500 people in total, with an average of ~120 at all times. Simply astounding.

I was also really surprised that the E3 demo 'level' was not in the game as a whole. I guess it was just made specially for that event.

Dual wielding is awesome! My favorite dual wield for Singleplayer is dual plasma rifles; it's the fastest way to kill those heavily-shielded Elite honor guards. (although, the Elites have dual plasma rifles too!) I find that human weapons run out of ammo WAY too quickly in singleplayer, the BR and SMG are both really useful but neither of them last more than a fraction of a level before you have to pick up Covie weapons. The Shotgun is completely obsolesced by the Plasma Sword; if your close enough to shotty someone you'd be close enough to Lunge attack them.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And what's with the Sentinel Beam? It doesn't seem to do much damage against Covies, but it kills Flood easily. Is the Sentinel Beam useful at all in multiplayer?
