Definitely sounds like there's an encoded message in this one. Will throw it into Audacity soon.

His speech to text totally mangled my post lol.
He asked me to write back and explain myself. Ideas on what we should say next?

Seems like quite a job typing out everything he says in the other rider mail. Is anyone familiar with the application(s) he's reading code from? From what I heard, I'd assume it's what he uses for the podcast.

Around 23 minutes into the podcast you can hear the train conductor voice say, VERY CLEARLY, "Attention Passengers: Don't believe his lies. Find the truth about the decay. Thank you."

In the middle of all that error output stuff Jim read out he says something about "lambda method". Lambda I know can be related to radioactive decay.

At the beginning Jim says some stuff about splicing the beginning of one sentence with the end of a different sentence. I tried pitching up the audio and speeding it up (a-la nightcore) but am not seeing anything hidden. I'm not so good with that sort of thing though so someone might want to take a second look.

Jim posted this to Twitter. Seems he's already done that grunt work for us.

At the end of each line of code is a number preceded by a + sign.

6738869
6741487
586
107

EDIT: If I did my math right, they should add to 13491116.

"That offset seems crazy. Is this like a split method that exists across megabytes like, it's like a German sentence where the the verb is split 2, split in half and like one half goes to the beginning of the sentence, the one half goes to the end of the sentence and like in this method half of it goes to the beginning of the program and half of it goes to the end of the program? That must be what is happening. This program is written in German."

This episode does seem to be cut up a bit strangely. There are times where the train beeps like the conductor is going to say something but nothing is heard. Other times the conductor speaks without a preceding beep. Maybe we have to stitch the audio back together?

jimmc3rd, I noticed those numbers too, but have no idea what they could mean, if anything.

There is a missing number from the sequence found in the image. What Jim says in the audio differs from the "show notes" at one part.

The 6th line in the image (and the 7th line [with line 1 being the Win32Exception block] in the audio) reads as:
Code:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.get_MetaData() +138

While the 6th line that is read aloud is this:
Code:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.TryConsumeMetaData() +61

And it is immediately after this "goof" that Jim points out the "ridiculous offset" in the lines with +6738869 and +6741487.

A lambda expressions is a way to create anonymous methods or functions in many programming languages. I've not listened to the pod cast yet but I feel like that's what he is going for here.

The numbers are line numbers, this looks like a normal ASP.net error.

Just after the 10:30 mark when he's reading
Code:
 System.Web.Mvc.<>c__DisplayClass1d.<BeginExecuteCore>b__18(IAsyncResult asyncResult) +28

the audio seems to speed up or cut out as he reads the number 28.
