i'm not sure either but after looking at Ed's reply to his own post...

Quote:
you shouldnt Stop at all the punctuation though. just the ones that seem to exclaim something!!!! good luck...

and Lucy's suggestion that we "try turning it off and on again", i wonder if it has to do with STOP code, which is displayed in a hexadecimal format. or perhaps binary due to the 1's and 0's that border Lucy's suggestion?

of course, this is NOT an area i'm strong in but if anyone who is better skilled at it wants to take a crack at it perhaps this could help?

I think I've done it.

Yes, stringstheory, you had the right idea. Every period was a 0 and every exclamation point was a 1. The answer is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
usbdrop?

I think our local player, CyRei, might want to make that trip to The Dove on Wordsworth Avenue. Smile

I have taken the liberty of replying in the same sort of punctuation code on Enigma's page, only my code spells "dovepub".

Need a different place
The Dove in the suburb is too far

According to Edward Nigma:
Quote:
all monitoring paused so very quickly - though this will be deleted tomorrow - too far - find somewhere closer...

So, we need a place closer to the Octo building. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I'm quoting my own post. Talkin' to myself... Wink

The last time I played an ARG with a USB drop, we discovered that the best place to do that is in a library. There's a library right down the street from the Octo statue, so I've composed another punctuation reply that says, "library?" The others at 88 know that Callum reads, so his going into a public library shouldn't arouse their suspicion.

What about the geocache at Octo?

As I see it, the Octo geocache belongs to someone else, so not only would it be rude of us to co-opt it, we also run the risk of someone who isn't one of our players either walking off with the usb, or downloading the info from in on the spot, and getting totally confused.

Hey there, I'm happy to do the drop. I'll be glad if it isn't the dove pub as that's quite far for me from where I live by I am do the center mk. I was thinking about it and there's a sculpture outside tgi Friday's of two people in masks whispering to each other, said to be illuminati symbolism. That feels like it might be a more apt location. I am away this weekend but can do next week. In the evening would be better as I finish work 3.30 gmt. The library does work as well it will need to work on a time.

I'll keep an eye in here as Im a bit busy atm.

While I agree that the "Dangerous Liasons" sculpture would be more thematically appropriate, translating that into a punctuation binary paragraph would take even longer than the one I *already* did suggesting the library. So, unless we're told that the library is a no-go, let's stick with that. Smile

I agree with Pictish. Library seems simple enough. Also I had screenshotted some of the conversation with Lucy while Emily wasn't there. Sorry for the late upload. Been having some computer trouble. Sad

New Edward Nigma puzzle
Library

There's a new puzzle on Edward Nigma's page. The photo is of
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Melvil Dewey, inventor of the Dewey Decimal System.

The cipher translates to:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
when the heart beats for a poet sy and Dia Have past tense steaL MLKD provides the 'section' giving an english date that's real

That's as far as I've gotten, because I'm seriously tired. Hopefully, one of y'all will be willing to finish what I've started. Smile We have 24 hours from the time he posted to solve it. Exclamation

Could 9th October mean 910, i.e. Geography and Travel section according to the Dewey system?[spoiler]

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Could "when the heart beats" refer to Edgar Allan Poe's Tell-Tale Heart? It was written in 1843.
