Anyway, I hope the luigi-amiibo wasn't cursed ala Doom House, and Jim was just trying to get rid of it. Wink

Sorry, I have been suuuuper sick since IndieCade, and only now have been feeling well enough to catch up on stuff that fell behind. I'll see what I can do this weekend.

So it was cursed. Laughing

Anyway, good to hear you're feeling better.

I hope we get something substantial out of the amiibo.

Thanks! Smile

New THD has what sounds like some analogue data signal in it, I just arrived at work and won't have much time to look at it, maybe someone else will.

It starts at around the 20 minute mark, it's very visible in the spectogram, I didn't listen to the entire thing.

It kind of reminds me of the old dial up noise that 56k modems made.

Yes that's my thought as well, we need to figure out what communicates at 1300 - 2000 Hz

Possibly a commodore 64 cassette this was done earlier in the first part of the ARG. I am unsure how to decode if this is the case

If that's the case it should be easy, aren't there a lot of commondore emulators out there?

[edit]
I converted it to TAP and ran it in a C64 emulator and it didn't work, unsure if I need to clean it up more, or if we are just on the wrong track

[edit](ho ho.. track.. get it? Rolling Eyes).[/edit]

So I'm guessing this is what I'm looking for:
http://dialabc.com/sound/detect/

I clipped the sound, exported it to .wav and plugged it into the site, and got the following pattern:

02211AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA33A3AAA3A3A33AAAAAA3A3A33AA3A713A33A93A3A393AA33A3A3

Maybe someone can make sense of this, if it's anything.

Not sure if those sound like DTMF tones to me, as they are only one frequency at a time (DTMF = Dual Tone Multi Frequency).

Something is REALLY up with THD 30, which went up today. It doesn't even sound like Jim is on a train, more like in an arcade or something? Sounds like Pac--Man/Galaga along with some Sega Genesis/Mega Drive sounding stuff. I think I hear voices saying "hello" or "help" at various times through the audio, but it could just be from a game?

Spectogram is a bit nuts too: http://i.imgur.com/7yrIspe.png

Edit: I'm certain that I've identified the source of the audio. It's from a series of recordings called the Arcade Ambience Project. Jim used the 1986 version. http://arcadecontrols.com/files/Audio/arcade86.mp3
I'll try doing a phase flip in a little while to hopefully cancel out most, if not all of the background noise.
