[Trailhead?] Mystery Yellow Envelope

This is the first time I have ever posted in UnForum, though I have been keeping an eye on the threads here for a couple of years.

Today I received a yellow envelope with no return address and a Canadian stamp. It contained one sticky note with block writing printed on and a page from a comic in Norwegian. The translation of the front of the comic give me few indications of what it might be from, and the back of the page are send away advertisements. The addresses show empty buildings on google earth.

http://imgur.com/a/wJwa3 I have taken a couple of pictures for you folks to look at if you are interested. For the moment I feel as if there is nothing more for me to do except wait for a follow up package. I am not sure who would have signed me up for something like this, but I have to figure out what this is all about.

If anyone could translate, that'd be fantastic!

I gave the translation of the comic side a hack-

Ikke skrem gutten mor, Jens! hern har ikke sagt et ord pa flere dager.
Er det pette du sa ?
Er det det.

Google translate says:

Do not scare the cat more, Jens! She has not said a word on several days.

Is it Pette you said?

Is that it?

doing a google image search on the comic picture brought up a website:

http://theartoffindingthesilverlining.myfreesites.net/

that appears to be started in 2014, with images of the comic page posted in January 2015, referencing it as a puzzle that came in the mail.

But the blog and the contact information seem to just be "placeholders" and fillers.

I can see the bar code on the envelope, as if it did go thru a postal service, but the postage stamp does not appear to be canceled. Is that common with mail from Canada?

Going to the contact page on that blog, it gives an address in Kansas, but the telephone number is an exchange in California, and the fax number points to North Carolina -- a search tells me this appears to be the default placeholder info for that free website host's templates.

Actually, you have posted a few times in the past. Did you know this was posted on reddit a month ago? Are there now two recipients?

That one's envelope has a clear postmark. http://imgur.com/a/XP2VV

From that reddit post mentioned above, it looks like you might be waiting a while for a follow up package. That post was made over a month ago, without any updates.

So I found some person's blog who actually received a follow up package!

Here's the original post after getting Package 1:
http://krismancuso.blogspot.com/2015/11/mystery-package-clue-1-norwegian-comic_16.html

and the post about Package 2!:
http://krismancuso.blogspot.com/2015/12/mystery-package-clue-2-trip-to-mexico.html

Looking further down on the blog, looks like this may be a new variant of the (don't scroll over unless you want it ruined for you, OP)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Mystery Package Company Game. The blog owner says their spouse signed them up for it.

Expect another package soon!

I completely forgot I got this for myself.

I am not a smart man.

Nice to know I got this excited over something without remembering why I got it in the first place, at least! (Mine came today)
