So, to the best of our collective knowledge, nothing 'official' was uploaded to teh interwebs to commemorate 'Clover Day'...?

Dang... Sad

S.earch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsz4vJuvfE0 so this vid is a couple years old but it's on Bad Robots Youtube page. We may be on the right track with the unf.orseen "typo" thing. Check it out and give me you guys' thoughts.

1:18 mark in 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer

I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but I noticed that MEW's character puts her hand over her face in awe of what she sees outside of the bunker at exactly 1 minute and 18 seconds into the trailer. I think that this bodes well for the monster being very closely related to our original Cloverfield monster.

That was for S though, not sure these things can be mixed together since that team is not affiliated with the apparent team linked to this project.

For what it's worth I checked the wiki article for 10 Cloverfield Lane earlier today and noticed it was filled with plenty of production info that wasn't there days ago, and now it's pretty clear to me they actually made a proper sequel out of a barebones script they bought back in 2012, "The Cellar". It seems the speculation going on Reddit + all that stuff about "secret screenings" and such are most likely BS seeing as the project was clearly being worked on as a Cloverfield thing before it finished filming, and then there was an almost year gap for post-production in which they most likely filled all the other details... Or perhaps they waited on purpose as to avoid any clash with Star Wars, I don't know.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10_Cloverfield_Lane#Production
Quote:
In 2012, Paramount Pictures bought the script and commenced further development under Bad Robot Productions. Bad Robot was developing it for Insurge Pictures, Paramount's specialty label for films with a micro-budget. Due to Bad Robot's involvement, the film was assigned the codename Valencia to keep exact details of the production a secret.[5]

This of course makes me glad of following its development since it means it wasn't just some discarded indie film that got "Cloverfield" slapped onto it, but it was brought from the beginning with that intention, and if you keep reading the article, in the Filming section you can see some stuff that show that this won't take probably more than HALF the movie inside the bunker we've seen. I figured they wouldn't be as obvious as to make such a cliche premise (man is the real monster etc) or some dull twist like "the crazy dude was right all along woo spooky" etc.

AntaresMHD Has right - I wouldn't mix "S" (the book by JJ Abrams) with Cloverfield and this themes.

To ARG or not to ARG?
That be the question.

My feeling is that if there is anything further to come from the Swamp Pop tie in it will come from left field when the time is right. If there was any thing out there currently it would have been found by now.
I am thankful catherwood cleared up the tenuous Barr Nunn non-connection, I had issues with that one.

It's great to see some of the old Cloverfield, Super8 people and all the new faces!

Now for some wild speculation of my own. (What? -Everybody is doing it!)
The fact that these two, Matthew W. Mungle and Koji Ohmura are in the credits is very interesting to me. Their specialities are, among other things, corpses, ageing, and the prosthetic penis.

Spec 1: There are humanoid "monsters".
Spec 2: There are humanoid "monsters" with large penises.
Spec 3: Goodman character becomes deceased and there is no place to dispose of the body.
Spec 4: Final scene is of Winstead character back in the same bunker 15-20 years hence with a questioning child she is desperately trying to hide the truth from.
Spec 5: Damn this is fun.

That's good, there is going to be some sort of technical practical affects then probably.

So what you are saying is.... It's actually a film about how John Goodman is aging, and his dead penis?
