Hey all!
New

Hey all!

It has been absolutely wonderful watching you all unravel the ARG for 10 Cloverfield Lane! My name is Andy, and I was a Senior in High School at the age of 17 when Cloverfield came out. And let me tell you, that was the first and last time I had ever experience an ARG. I hadn't even known it was formally called that until the trailer launch for 10 Cloverfield Lane came out and I found this forum and the Reddit thread.

I remember the Cloverfield ARG with so much joy, I truly got attached to the characters and I still to this day hope that Beth and Rob are alive. RIP Merlena and Hud.

I have the slight hope that the wild theory of MEW crashing from a drunk driving accident during the attack after leaving Rob's party is what happens. And I kind of hope that at the end of the movie after several days she finally has to escape and she finds Rob and Beth fleeing after the Moab. /sigh
One could only dream. Lol. Razz

On a serious note; I would love to actually have some real ARG merchandise from 10 Cloverfield Lane to go with my posters for both movies, I want to order some Swamp Pop to go next to them but I would love to also get the puzzle pieces that are coming with some of the orders? Is there any way I can let them know that I am IG or interested in the puzzle?

Thanks a lot!

ARG rules
Rules

I have a question is there a thread or a website that has a list of the general rules to an ARG? Particularly one like the ones for Cloverfield/10 Cloverfield Lane?

Answers to Questions Posed...

I'll be happy to try and help as best I can, so here goes...

@aromerogern22: Hey Andy! Smile The puzzle pieces are apparently arriving only with orders placed through the "Swamp Pop" website itself...here's the link - http://swamp-pop.myshopify.com/

And the ARG how-to seems to be located in this here thread...here.

Good luck and Welcome! Very Happy

Dear Swag Hunter..... Sigh. Please re-read the thread, and find that the question to his has been more or less answered.
Sincerely,
Pixie...

Ps- rules are unwritten, each game is different. Generally, don't be a dick. Don't brute force any information, dox puppet masters (dox anyone for that matter), don't screw over your fellow players, don't game jack. As for HERE, we have the TOS which is small and linked to in the top left corner of the screen. Yeah up there. I'll wait while you read it..... and everyone should have read before they signed up (bit annoyed at the amount of people breaking the rule about signing up for a second account just because they can't remember their log in info, eh hem!!!). Don't multi post (you have the "edit" option on posts, many of us here like to write "edited to add:"). Play nice. Don't be a spammer. Hope that answers your query.

Thank you, ryanj64!

The white mountain puzzle number is thefe general number and is not apecifically for lost and found I called and got a message telling me to call back in office hours or leave a voice mail message. I decided not to leave a voicemail messagr cause I am in Straya and didn't want to leave an int number, but it all seems out of game

There is A Live help chat function at the bottom of the page and I told them I received 3 puzzle pieces that look like the Eiffel tower, with an order of seamp pop. The live help recomended going to the website and searching Where in The World and then to scroll over the eiffell tower puzzle to see if thr piece matches. I think you bros are all over this. She said she is "not aware any promotions with the pop company."

Antoine Lavoisier - Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier was a French nobleman and chemist central to the 18th-century chemical revolution and had a large influence on both the history of chemistry and the history of biology

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoine_Lavoisier

His name appears on the eiffel tower along with 71 other people.

So, I've been staring at the Memory Lane puzzle. A lot. I think it still *might* be our best way forward.

There's a lot of interesting things in it. While other puzzles may share one or two elements with the trailer, it shares MANY.

I've found fluorescent tube lighting, a CB radio (recently spotted in the kitchen on Reddit), a juke box, non-perishible canned drygoods, a tube tv, cassette tapes (not vhs but I think you can see some in the media centre next to the tv - also, I think it is by Lyle Lovett?), The Game of Life (amid a stack of other board games, just like in the background of the bunker), a stack of White Mountain puzzles by Lori Shcory (the same artist who did the Cat Fish puzzle in the trailer, and also made this puzzle).

And here's a kicker: a *crate* of old fashioned soda pop bottles hiding in the background of the dark corner on the left centre edge.

Also a troll. Because why not?

There could also be more in there, it's a weird image with a lot of layers and things that are pretty hard to work out.

So another interesting thing is that the title of the puzzle (memory *LANE*) appears in this puzzle in a street sign. I only just now noticed the the street sign has an arrow on it. It's pointing at the rotary phone, which has things on it I can't quite make out. The area code seems to start with a 4. If the next two digits are 8 and 3... Well... Then we'd really have something.

Also interesting is how this puzzle is supposedly - but inconsistently - about "obsolete" technology. We all immediately noticed *plenty* of exactly this kind of obsolete technology in the bunker. It makes sense that this puzzle is trying to get us to ask why. What is going on, what is happenening, what has happened to make John Goodman build his bunker and fill it with such an odd assortment of stuff? Did he prep this bunker for y2k and forget about it until it came in handy 15 years later? Did he just get the stuff for cheap at a "flea market?" Or a "yard sale" (Which oddly enough is the name of 2 of 3 puzzles found in this puzzle? - and FYI the third puzzle is about ocean life, because of course it is).

Or did he choose this analog stuff specifically because he knew digital tech (like Winstead's phone) would be risky in the event of an EMP (something I first learned about in JJ's Alias).

I'm not sure why. Koala didn't do anything wrong. Koala contacted the company everyone else wanted to contact and did what everyone else was saying to do - ask them if they are involved or something. And here's the best part - even though *i* don't personally think they are, Koala got some rando at the help desk who even if they were involved wouldn't know anyway. The "white lie" I gather is Koala telling white mountain he has the puzzle pieces. Didn't mess up anything for anyone.

As I see it, obviously the puzzle pieces mean something. There is a literal puzzle here. It is entirely possible the maker of the puzzle isn't nearly as important as the puzzle itself.

For kicks and grins I sent a request to my rep at Paramount to see if he can tell me whether or not we should expect any kind of viral marketing campaign for 10CL that we may be to cross promote with. Hopefully hear something from him soon.

I've been trying to think about the possible relevance of these puzzle pieces. I don't know if I have any novel insights but:

1) Maybe we are indeed expected to virtually assemble the puzzle. If so, what could they possibly reveal, especially since we already have identified the source puzzle? So far, none of the pieces look like they've been marked up in any way that people have reported.
1a) maybe it will be the 'missing' pieces somehow
1b) maybe it has to do with the names on the Eiffel Tower (cool thing I learned through this)
1c) maybe 'special' marked pieces haven't been received yet

2) alternatively, the actual puzzle pieces are just 'flavor' and the intended route is in another direction.
2a) the source/maker of the puzzle (seems unlikely)
2b) highlighting the theme of France/Eiffel Tower (which was apparent from the trailer, but still)
2c) we still have to wait for some other site/clue to pop up

I've also been trying various URL guesses on both 10cloverfieldlane and drinkswamppop so see if there are hidden directories/images but that is an endless guessing game.

Just thinking out loud. Jetpack

Swamp Pop 15 year supply

Ok, been away from this stuff for a while. Feels good to be back.....while we await all the puzzle pieces to come in (my mixed case order should be in today) I was thinking about the Swamp Pop Long term Shelter Supply.

We know:

1. The price matches the same number on the Rowe AMi Jukebox in the trailer: 4813
2. The trailer takes place in a fallout shelter and the image for the 15 year supply is indicative of a fallout shelter.
3. The a line from the song playing on the jukebox matches a line from the description of the Long term shelter supply: "there doesn't seem to be anyone around"

Swamp Pop description - "This is a 15 year ration of assorted flavors, specially packaged for extended periods of dry storage—for when there doesn't seem to be anyone around. Available by special request only. (Inviting us to submit a request)

A user in reddit (muchlovephoto) claims to have gotten a response back about the Long term supply:
Quote:
Thank you for your interest in the long term shelter supply. Due to unforeseen circumstances on the eastern seaboard we have had an interruption to our supply lines. We apologize for the inconvenience as we realize time is of the essence. We will add you to the waiting list and a representative will contact you to assess priority as soon as the shelter supply packages are once again available for purchase.

Here: https://www.reddit.com/r/10cloverfieldlane/comments/41bm7l/swamp_pop_15_year_shelter_supply_for_thousands_of/cz1wwj8

Considering the two major links with "4813" and the line "there doesn't seem to be anyone around" along with the "special request only" and response "time is of the essence" I cant help but think that they are directly hinting to a more specific message we need to send in order to receive a much more specific response or clue? Maybe my mind is wandering but I think its too convenient to be a coincidence. Its our only direct interactive link right now. What do you all think?

I'm not sure why. Koala didn't do anything wrong. ... . Didn't mess up anything for anyone.

exactly. That was sarcasm. Falco just needed a winky emoticon instead. (also, i fixed your spelling  )

Also, while i'm here, I wanted to clarify the puzzle artist. The description says "Lori Schory" but the category link says "Charles Girard" which is more likely, as he made a whole series of collage pictures for White Mountain puzzles. Of course, this will only reinforce our conspiracy theory.
