All names on the 250 piece puzzle and which ones we got:
(showing the North West side, also known as Trocadéro side)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_72_names_on_the_Eiffel_Tower

Theory: Do we really need all pieces "if" the names are the thing we're looking for? Question: What could we do with names.

I just encrypted their names into numbers (in order) behind the names, so please to be confused.

Seguin / 19-5-7-21-9-14

Lalande / 12-1-12-1-14-4-5

Tresca / 20-18-5-19-3-1

Bresse - fully visible, civil engineer / 2-18-5-19-19-5

Cuvier - fully visible, paleontology / 3-21-22-9-5-18

Ampère / 1-13-16 18-5 ## Ampere (without è) / 1-13-16-5-18-5

Chevreul / 3-8-5-22-18-5-21-12

Flachat / 6-12-1-3-8-1-20

Navier / 14-1-22-9-5-18

Legendre / 12-5-7-5-14-4-18-5

Chaptal - fully visible, chemistry / 3-8-1-16-20-1-12

Hmpf, i was really hoping for some 4-8-13 cluebomb.

Chemists Names on The Eiffel Tower

Hello, all! I've been lurking about all through Cloverfield, and now with 10CL. I've decided to try my hand at joining in the possible fun, so please forgive if I'm not totally on point with the rules.
I've had a thought, and kind of breezed over it some:
One of the names on the Eiffel Tower puzzle pieces is a French chemist. The synopsis of the movie tells us that the world above the bunker is uninhabitable due to a chemical fall out. Could this be a point in the direction we should be moving? The French chemist was also know for coining the name nitrogen, which could be bomb material?
Again, I could just be clutching at straws, but maybe someone could run with this better than I.

If NYC was strafed with bombs containing massive amounts of radiation during the "Hammer-Down Protocol" (as it appears to have been at the end of the first movie), 'uninhabitable' would be an excellent description of what would be left, topographically speaking.

"The 'Investigation Mode' feature on the Blu-ray release of Cloverfield notes that HAMMER-DOWN used 'significantly heavier ordinance' than that witnessed by Hud from the evacuation helicopter, which were the Mk-80 bombs dropped by a B-2 Spirit mentioned above."

http://cloverfield.wikia.com/wiki/HAMMER-DOWN_Protocol

Aka...'wastelands, for everyone'. Shocked

Well, I sent the standard "we are struggling" email off....

I left it IG so that if anyone is watching this should get some kind of appropriate IG response if we have string holders....maybe. Dunno

Valencia

Just something that has been bugging me. But both Valencia and Satsuma are types of oranges. Can't really see much connection to anything else.

For kicks and grins I sent a request to my rep at Paramount to see if he can tell me whether or not we should expect any kind of viral marketing campaign for 10CL that we may be to cross promote with. Hopefully hear something from him soon.

I did this with my contact at BR and he said none that he was aware of.

It's beginning to look like we might've been too hopeful for this one. Confused
Unless, of course, it's being handled entirely by a third party, like 42 Entertainment.

Maybe. My contact isn't in the film side of BR so they weren't 100% sure. The whole thing feels very basic to me in contrast to what we've seen before.

Everything about this has smelled so off from the begining. Like more than "an ARG's afoot" off.

If this movie really was made for 5 million it doesn't leave much of a budget for an team to do an ARG. And I'm not sure studios were convinced they're getting enough return for their viral media investment during the short period of time they were standard. You bring up 42 media who haven't updated their website - or been involved in a public project since *2013.*

Hiring a team of experienced game designers and people to run an arg costs $$$$$. It's entirely possible given their track record with this movies release so far that BR might be experimenting with how much hype they can build for something without a media budget, without any promotion AT ALL.

More than that, I've been saying all along: We're approaching this like it's Cloverfield/2008. It's 2016 now. Everything about this movie is different, if not the exact opposite of Cloverfield in 2008.

Concerning that poster, I wondered why the shaft of the letter "L" winds up in what looks like ocean/sea water? Almost suggesting something is coming from deep down underwater to the surface? What does the water imply and why was it included in the pic??

We do hear MGP's roar at the end of the trailer which implies something that makes this sound is in the flick.. or at least the sound is..

Was this film always a BR production or did they come on board after filming has been done?

Also, the inclusion of the Eiffel tower pairs to the Statue of Liberty (also French) in the first film..

I only mentioned 42 as an example. I didn't mean to suggest they were actually involved. My apologies if it seemed that way.

There has been the assumption that something was afoot based on our previous experiences, but nothing has really panned out with that. (Yes, yes I've seen that puzzle pieces) Even the sloppiest of game designers could've lead us to another website by now without much thought put into it.

I'm not sure there was ever much of an ROI for these types of experiences. As fans we got a lot of out them, but whether or not that translated into more successful ticket/product sales seems hard to definitively calculate.

I hear many things at the end of the trailer, but Clover isn't one I've picked out yet. Perhaps I should give it another listen.

I completely agree with you, but how do you account for Swamp Pop sending out puzzle pieces with their products?

The puzzle and Eiffel Tower imagery were clearly visible in the trailer. So were their bottles. None of these things present new information.

Hiding a clue in puzzle pieces randomly mailed to people hundreds or thousands of mile apart seems overly complicated to begin a game with less than two month before the movie opens.
