taking one of many letter/number strings out of a pic, select the fitting combination and ignoring any other possibility, just use this as an imgur link, gamma it up, find a selfplaces qr code that leads to an ip in france and make the false claim the ip traces to paris

this is utterly bullshit and gamejacking

For some reason I keep going back to the 4813 with the Jukebox and the price of the Long term supply of Swam Pop. I know some have spoken about the possibility of coordinates. I took the 4813 and broke it into two numbers based off three things. When MEW input the numbers into the jukebox we dont see her inputting the number 1. Also, the song as well as Swamp Pops website suggestion of "No Ones Around". I took the numbers left 48 and 3 and input Long 48 Lat 3 into google. Oddly lon 48 and lat 3 point to Les Carrés France. Les Carrés is just outside Paris. Translated Les Carrés means "The Edges". Also, I doubt it means anything but when you go to Google Images for Les Carrés all the pictures are some sort of multiplicatio tables, odd and probably nothing.

The Edges reminded me of this post talking about the edges of the movie poster:

Coincidence that 48 3 leads to a map close to Paris? Probably, I just think that 4813 has to be important as it's prominently displayed twice. And whats up with the hints to eliminating One (1)?

But, if I understand it the first new set of alphanumerics from G5MC led to this:

As I've been thinking about it more, I think I'm at the point of agreeing with this.

First, there was the baffling and random discovery of G5MC in that poster image.

Next, this person seemed like they were monitoring the game closely enough that they made the change to the ham radio site in response to it being discovered.

Then, there is the weird use of the JJ Abrams quote, which just seems clunky and not at all appropriate.

Finally, there is the fact that all of the links so far (other than SwampPop) have been to publicly-available (or easily accessible) sites like Imgur. If and when something leads back to 10cloverfieldlane.com or something that is more clearly in-game, that will be more convincing.

i got suspicious in the moment some claimed the ip would lead to paris and that the mods over there are not reacting to my posts in anyway that debunked that iptraces2paris shit

 		This is part of why we ask people to show their work (albeit in spoilers) so people can corroborate and prevent game jacking (not that it never happens, but it slows it down...).

It's also part of why I hate Reddit. Anyone can say or do anything on there, and people take it as gospel so often rather than calling them out. I've never before played a game where people were rushing to check Reddit so often - I miss playing games here....

The last time I followed an ARG was Cloverfield (I kind of skimmed over the Super 8 one once I found out it wasn't a Cloverfield sequel, although I loved that movie too), and now that I've been following on here and Reddit, the first thing I'm noticing is how much more organized everything seems here. Also, damn a lot has changed in 8 years. I don't remember there being so many different stretches happening so quickly.

I'm just hoping we can get something concrete soon, so we can all kind of be on the same page.

 		This is great man!
I've been slow to really jump on any ARG for what I hope will in the end, be a wonderful complement to a film I absolutely love. I'm sitting here a little toasted with X-Files playing off the the side and I am checking out the reddit stuff and I realize......They're the ARG for me at the moment and I guess OOG for me but it's friggin' GREAT!!!

Tom Clancy........hell, they got it all, BIG BEN, ham radio operators, empty field in England I think. They got QR Code, Reverse DNS, IP in France, Paris, hell, who knows. They got a guy who lives 14 miles from that field and he drove there but got cold feet walking around as it was too dark and CORRECTLY realized he might be in danger of getting his head blown off by some crazed land owner.

All of this IS MY ARG!! I've had so much fun in the last hour or two it kind of reminds me of 2008. As far as I see it right now the trailer is still my utmost focus. I still believe in the 4813. I believe in the obvious absolute timeline piece together. Swamp Pop was fun (can't wait to try those). I believe in the BARREL. For the time being I will continue to enjoy the reddittheater!

Thank you BR and Paramount for picking the perfect time of year so that I have the time to partake in this for the next two months! I sure hope this movie is GREAT. Here's to more clues!

The text I see says, "every single ip lookup service shows Nord-Pas-de-Calais in Roubaix as location, where the europe wide known hoster OHV has one of its data centers" -- I prefer keeping a record here, rather than relying on another site to be permanent. I just wanted to add a better IP lookup tool to your list of services, for future reference.

with all respect, but your "better ip lookup tool" is wrong and uses the wrong nameserver infos like utrace that shows that ip even in italy

i have more than 10 lookups with independent databases or even live requests to the correct nameserver that give the same result for Nord-Pas-de-Calais.....

 		Personally I'm loving that there is a game jack of what I think is a game jack (Swamp Pop) of a non-existent actual game. So 21st century. And also why we can't have nice things.

 		These sort of gamejacks happen in this time and age because no one at that giant brainstorm of a site that is reddit bothered to debunk that huge stretch that was the alleged "poster clue". It's like they're trying to make out porn in a scrambled channel when they don't even seem to be in the actual porn channel Rolling Eyes .

 		If there is an ARG for this movie this is the sloppiest ARG i have ever seen lol. i don't even know where to help with this discussion. What started off as a decent lead (swamp pop) has turned into a chaotic scramble between ham radios and QR codes. What's worse is that there are so many gamejacks and uncertainties now with this thing that im not even sure if we'd notice an actual lead if it hit us in the face. I miss the good ol days when it was just this forum and IMDB.
