Enoch fire photos - not right?

I was just looking over the Silas's house photos after the fire and they don't seem to follow the show as I remember it.

The second photo shows the DD and JP seemingly looking at the photographer and the Suits walking up the stairs in the background.

Didn't the JP and gang leave before the suits?

Yes they did. But I can't imagine that it's part of the puzzle. My current spec is that LivePlanet has access to photo stills from the video shoot. And they picked the "best ones". I, on the other hand, would have preferred photos that didn't conflict with the tv show's timing.

I suspected that these were simply publicity stills, but I have started to get a little bit disappointed in the fact that they are giving us evidence for a mystery that is inconsistant with the mystery.

If it is just a continuity error than it's just sloppy story telling and takes a lot away from the immersion for me. If they are ging to give evidence for us to pour over they should foresee this sort of thing.

Embarassed Forgive the nano-rant.

Ironically, I think that the harder any production company works to TRY to maintain continuity in most instances, the harder and faster they're going to get called out on the carpet when there happens to be a minor continuity slip-up. (Think of the barbs that were slung at Jim Cameron, Mr. "100% historical accuracy" -- who even went so far during the filming of TITANIC as to ensure that the CHINA PATTERNS on dishes shown in a 3-second shot were accurate to the scenario -- when relatively minor, blink-and-you-miss-'em discrepancies were caught by the Internet Eagle-Eye Patrol on the AICN talkback forums). Once you raise the quality stakes for yourself, you will invite and should expect this sort of criticism.

Some people think that this process is mindless minutiae nitpicking by people who don't have anything better to do. After all, the best Quality Assurance program or continuity staff in the world isn't gonna catch EVERY SINGLE mistake, right, especially in such a collaborative process as episodic film or television making?

While I agree with this approach to an extent, I also think pointing out continuity mistakes of the sort discussed in this thread, if done nicely enough, can help the filmmakers (and the webdev directors of the Push game) get better at coordinating their efforts over time. I mean, just LOOK at how much better the final version of PushTimes.com looked than the prototype version, which had holes big enough to drive a Mack truck through!

Keep in mind, we are dealing with people who are making a television show FIRST, and an ARG game second. They are approaching this from the mindset of being primarily concerned with visual aesthetic, mood, feel, and storytelling, since at the end of the day MOST people who watch Push will be following along mostly for the story, not for the game. (At least I assume this is the case, based on the fact that the show's Nielsen numbers to date are MUCH higher than the members of the various Internet forums, which leads me to believe that most passive viewers are NOT actively playing along.)

So, by all means, toongoon and others, please continue to point out these sorts of continuity lapses. I think they're a big help, at least to the players here, if not to the filmmakers who may be passively watching these boards and collecting feedback to allow themselves to get better at spotting this sort of thing. But also be aware that what may not "work" in a game-continuty sense may have been purposefully chosen, more for its pure visual aesthetic value as a piece of television or photographic art or mood, and try to view various elements from that perspective as well and not to be too disappointed with a few relatively minor slip ups. I think that LP/ABC at least deserve some credit for TRYING.

O, all sweetness and light
