Yeah, I don't know if everybody was listening to me or not. I know Angelo was, since he responded to me more than a couple of times. But when I was playing against him, I got the feeling people were not hearing me. Like for example, just after I ran over Krystin (she was on my team!) with a Banshee, I apologized, but don't know if she heard me or not. I know she complained! Laughing

I totally heard you apologize. Heheh. At first I didn't realize you were on my team, and then I remember yelling, "WATERSSSS!!" Ha!

Y'know, now that I think about it, I heard a lot of people apologizing to me last night. Sad Embarassed

I'll tell you guys one thing, though: Angelo is terrible at this game. I just can't get that across enough, it seems. I mean, jeez! Only 25 kills in a first-to-50 Team Slayer match? Gosh, what pitiful aim he must have!

All sarcasm aside, last night was some fun fun.

Anybody on the forums here know what it means when the lobby tells you that 'a player failed to load the map'? I mean, I'm sure it is what it says, but how do you fail to load something that comes on the disk the game is on? I could understand if it was a downloadable map and someone hadn't gotten it yet, but everyone has the same exact mapset... what's the deal?

EDIT: Also, I forgot to mention that I said out loud "Sneaky sneaky SNUCK!" before killing KirstenS from behind. Razz I'm such a poor gentleman...

Team Poo was my favorite thing tonight. Also, singing the Chariots of Fire theme, in Coagulation slayer and bomb.

I had to laugh, for I was the sad clown being killed every 2 seconds by ANGELO AND LILPRINCESS!!!

ETA: I was asking about the lobby, because I had my settings so that chatter wouldn't come in on the headset. So I totally missed out last night on what y'all were babbling about. And then, every now and then, suspecting something was up, I would ask, "Can you guys hear me, or ...?" and then I'd see the speaker icons light up, and I was so confused ...

So I fixed the settings, and THEN realized that the plug on the adaptor was not in all the way, either. Voila! Instant chatternet! Just add popcorn butter!

Yeah, you were all about the Chariots of Fire theme on those maps. Cracked my girlfriend up Wink. I hada blast playing with you guys last night, this is the first time I had this much fun playing on Xbox live...could be the company, hmm...Smile. Can't wait to hop on again. I'll probably be on a little bit before the NC State-Florida State game tonight.

last night... man... I just dropped to the bottom of the pit for Halo 2... honestly, I when it was my friends and I, it was hard for me not to be top 2 or 3, even when we had like 10+ people playing, and these guys are good... I hate that I have to re-learn the controls. My left thumb was all focused and trained to aim precisely - now my right thumb has to undergo the training... if I'm in the middle of an intense firefight, my thumb just goes wild and I start shooting walls Very Happy (it's used to moving around a lot avoiding shots, not gently, steadily aiming) it's got to learn to think on its own now... *sigh* give me a couple more weeks and I should be back up to par Razz hehe

And what the heck was up with the colour blue last night?!?! no matter who was on that team, we never won! It must have been me.... :'(

Hope to play with you guys again.

... sorry bout that Embarassed

The best part was that no one in the vechicle said a word while we were plummeting to our deaths.

I'm sorry about that too. Some nights I suck, and then other nights I suck more... what can I say.

I had the best time I've ever had on xbox live last night, and that's saying a lot. The only thing that could of made it any better was if I didn't suck so bad, and if we could of played more then TWO freakin maps...

I look forward to playing with all of you again.

I have to tell you that before I apologized, I had to mute my mic cause I was laughing for some time! Laughing

Call me a freak, but I don't use inverted controls for walking/aiming, but I'd love inverted controls when piloting a Banshee! As soon as I get on a Banshee, I'm lost without the inverted controls. I know it's a lame excuse, but that's why I ran over you yesterday night!

thebruce,

I had the same experience the first time I played on xbconnect! Those guys are soooo good (like 5 times better than Angelo) that I just stopped playing! I'm glad that this group of people are around the same level!

I'm also still learning to aim properly when firing the right trigger. I've always used southpaw on Halo1, so right trigger was never used much. I just can't circle strafe very well while dual wielding. Everybody will get better .... eventually ... Ok, some of us will! Cool

One suggestion to all. Shouldn't we disable the radar? I'm so used to play without them that I don't even look anymore. It's a whole other game without radars ... much cooler!

Good point. Let me make some thing clear real quick. I'm not that great. I don't go to tournies, I don't whoop up on people while having my controller turned up side down, I don't walk on water...

So don't go telling everyone that I'm some freak of nature, that can rip spartans eye's out with my toe nails, or string people up by their inards...

What it really comes down to, is that I just suck a little less then other people... that's all.

I did like the "angelo must be a spartan 2.5" comment though...

Angelo, was that you driving that warthog when we had a full speed frontal HUGE CRASH? You just went flying!! Only spartans could survive that ...

There were two times I had full blown head on collisions on the little bridge between the two bases on lockout. Those were crazy. One of the times my warthog got launched and hit the roof over the middle of the bridge. I hopped out in mid air and landed right next to krystyn while she was driving. I then jacked her vehicle and drove off.... hehehe Wink

My favorite warthog jack had to be on coagulation. One guy was in the gunner position and the other was driving. I was running across the map and before I was too close the driver was killed by one of my teammates. The gunner was pounding the rocks that my buddy was hiding behind so I ran up and hopped in the driver seat.

I jetted off toward the enemies base and see a crowd of blue. I hoped that they would see the blue guy in back and just figure that I had to be friendly, which worked for a short bit. I started running them over, and thanks to the priceless addition of proximity voice I hear the guy in the gunner seat start yelling to his buddies that there is a red guy driving his warthog. PRICELESS...

I think that might've been me. I had at least two instances in coagulation where I went flying halfway across the map. I wish they could plot that sort of trajectory, in addition to the killing shots!

Seriously, there was impact, and then wham! zoom! zoom! zoom! ... zoom! ... *thud* The out-of-body-experience created by the camera angle once you're dead is awfully weird when it takes you a good 5 seconds for your body to come to rest. Laughing

Hehehe. I was a bit worried that when I tried to log on to unfiction this morning I'd find that my account had been banned... Wink

Did anyone else jack a banshee last night? I pulled it off twice and it's awesome. I actually got killed a lot trying to jack vechicles since the second I saw one coming I quit firing and just ran straight for it... Rolling Eyes

Had I been quicker off the cuff and been able to coordinate my mouth with the white button, I WOULD have said: "I've always loved you." Just before we crashed. (The Blues Brothers for those of you getting the wrong idea...)

But don't apologize. I think the vehicle stunts are part of what makes the Halo games great. Personally, I think we should get together and try to do a Warthog Jump reenactment. Anybody else wanna see their stats plummet?

Someone on my team boarded a Banshee. I could hear him screaming like a child after he did that! Don't remember who that was though.

One thing I don't like about this game is that they removed the fall damage. So people can get a banshee and just jump from the sky right inside a base on a coagulation! It's a neat move, but come on!!!

Bahahahaha. In the cold light of day, the quality of mercy is as sweet as being able to say one has stuck it.

Re: clans. I am listed with SPDR Ninjas on Bungie.net, but when I go to my options on XBL, I have no clan. Yet, I am able to play with all these lovely peeps - just find us by gamertag!

I am still unclear on the purpose/usefulness of clans, esp. since I fear no one may really want me in theirs. Unless they need a very pretty duck decoy, of course!
