Looks like it's for a marine air group based out of Camp Pendelton, San Diego.

My browser has a weird issue in that it cannot display most pictures posted to instagram -- i think it's a privacy setting on the user's part, but it could be i'm simply not logged into the right social media. Anyway, this is me requesting that someone upload a copy of that image here. A low rez version will probably be sufficient, or dump it into a more friendly placed like imgur (doesn't anyone use flickr anymore?) but at least we'll have a record of it if it ever disappears from external sites.

Crap, I'm on mobile so the image wasn't big enough to see that detail. I mean, if Reddit wants to send the group more lovely encouraging mail it's not the worst thing :/

This is Bad Robots public Instagram though, I assume/hope they know what they're doing?

I would assume they're doing this because it's a cause they have supported in the past, and Adam Driver was a marine and has a non profit to help vets as well. It's just interesting given the timing and since we know Howard was a marine. Do all Marines train at Pendelton? Would Howard theoretically have trained at Pendelton?

That's by design on Instagram's part. Doesn't work at all on IE, and on chrome it wants you to install their browser add-on - although it will let you bypass that. I find it's easier to just check on my phone.

Actually it would be good to know if Bad Robot is responsible for the ARG themselves, or if they farm that out to some 3rd party (like 42?). This would help weed out extraneous things.


Thanks for the enhanced magazine picture. I'll be interested to see if it's confirmed in the trailer.

Uh, that's essentially what I said. (Although I will say they did post clips of the movie to their Instagram and they haven't done that for anything else they've made.)

Edit: also to answer my own question, it seems like maybe. Pendelton for those who love west of the Mississippi, South Carolina for those who live East - as far as I, a Canadian civie can tell. No way of nowing for sure, since we don't even know where this movie is set, let alone where Howard grew up.

Same here, but I suspect it is the extra data that also prevents Firefox from displaying it. I see some special stuff in the header that resembles some Facebook coding. Oh well. (Pixie, my phone still has a flip cover, and my plan is a pay-per-minute for basic use only. I cling to my old ways.)

As for spiraling down into madness... I see such ties to fun&pretty... i'm wondering if there is a "maze" in the text of that chat letter... and now I want ice cream!

I'm pretty sure Instagram does that do people can't steal photos easily. I'm sure there's a way around it, but it's an Instagram thing not an ARG thing.

It's ok, we're all getting cagey. I mean, to a certain extent these things are meant to inspire some paranoia and misapprehension. Although I think bad game design doesn't help things either.
