Location: Citizen of the World (currently Honolulu, Hawaii).

 		It might be just an Instagram thing, yeah. I looked at the raw data for the JPG and it says that it was created with Photoshop 3.0. They're working with old tools.

Thank you! This may be the most correct and intelligent statement here or anywhere up to the moment.
NOBODY knows exactly where this movie, geographically will take place.
We know that certain parts of the film were shot in Louisianna (Hahnville to be exact) and this in no way insinuates the movie takes place there.

I have my gut feeling but no proof other than Cellar script. I have been working the license plate thing and will comment on that in a few as a quote to another member.

With no other leads at the moment, I was still hoping that the license plate would lead somewhere. It turns out that it's not even a real plate. I guess that's no surprise.

According to this website (http://www.txdmv.gov/motorists/license-plates?tab=general-issue-license-plates), the Texas plate design that seems to match this plate always has a pattern of two letters followed by a number, and then a letter followed by three numbers, which doesn't match. Boo.

Oh well. Now I know for sure that it can't mean anything!


I have been working the license plate angle for a day now and got into a bit of a disagreement with others at Cloverfield Clues. A lot of folks seem to think this is a TEXAS plate. I do not agree and feel my finding and examples prove this (at least if they used a real plate or a very good replica.)

Hinoai is correct in the information about TEXAS plates for that version of plate....the format of the characters for passenger cars, not trucks, follow a very strict format and I have never seen any variation!

Anyone interested can read here. It's just a short read and you can find my posts and examples to what state plate I believe it is.

The door number on one of the January tagruato employees of the month picture is 4232
The chat on FATP is timed at 01:58
I also seem to recall a box in the trailer with a number on it - yep, SE-1849

Granted, these still don't fit exactly because the star/compass is not 3d.

But US intelligence insignias seems to use a 8-16 point compass star more than the military does, which usually uses a 5 pt one. Or more often, an eagle.

Also, I keep saying Howard was a marine, when all he says is he's Navy which is not the necessarily the same thing. Oops.

All this is grain of salt because I also think the thing could just be a french neoclassical decoration that's randomly attached to the prop they used/picture they stole.

But if it is a medal, it makes sense to be part of the message to Megan. She'd recognize it, realize it was her dad, and it would remind her that her Dad's seen shit go down.

 		In regard to the ship in "on Deck" picture, is a Knox class frigate. The hull numbers of this class are FF-1052 to FF-1097.
Spanish navy build 5 ships of this tipe with some modifications, they named Baleares class these vessels, hull numbers for the class are F71 to F75.

Do you listen to the Cloverfeels podcast from Mike Falzone and Steve Zaragoza? They actually had someone on the last podcast, and she worked for a viral marketing company which made the oil rig news cast videos from the Cloverfield ARG. Apparently they put the ARG in the hands of multiple viral marketing groups, so each company does different pieces, without knowing exactly what they are doing the viral marketing for.

I'm guessing the same thing is happening with this movie, so I'm sure Bad Robot knows what will be out there, but I think it's outside marketing companies actually executing the ARG.

I love you guys. You make it bearable to be stuck with nothing.

Also, yeah, I wondered about 11.22.63 when I saw the trailer, based on Abrams and the name alone, but I doubt that they'll cross over universes like that. Though maybe there will be a new trailer attached somehow?
