PM Discussion Boards

Would there be any interest in a forum set up where PMs would have their own private discussion areas? Access to each game-specific forum would only be available to members of that group, and you would not be able to see anything other than public areas or your own area.

I suggested that to Bill a few weeks ago. His reply was to bring Deaddrop to what it is now. As far as why he chose to not keep it private, I am not sure. I do like the idea of private. I feel like PM secrets are a lot like a magicians. And if everyone knows how some of the magic works the illusion is ruined.

The questions are who is allowed in? And what happens if trust is violated?

I think Deaddrop is an AWESOME step in the right direction. As time goes on, and more people are using the boards actively, maybe that is his intent.

I talked to another person recently and they had a similiar idea too. Maybe this could be done in a very colaborative way between the two communities![/i]

Well here's the thing... The board admin would by necessity see all the areas on the board. Some people might be turned off by the idea. Board admins would naturally have to be someone that the community trusted to keep quiet. Hopefully I'd fall into this category! Actually, if I were an active player on one of the games being developed on a board I was admining, I'd refrain from peeking because I hate it when I see spoilers. I'll never get over when I read about the end of Sixth Sense before I saw it; I was livid for weeks. But I digress.

I visualize this as something that any PM team could use, no matter if they're posters here or elsewhere or even nowhere.

I didn't know about Bill's offer before I posted this, so let me talk to him and ask if this is what he had in mind, so I don't step on any toes or duplicate effort.

Sorry about all the confusion! I spoke to Bill and he confirmed that http://www.deaddrop.us does indeed offer private board space for PM teams who need it. Carry on, carry on. Very Happy

I'm happy to host secret and protected forums for PM teams. I have super secret mods just to facilitate them and maintain their anonyminity. But it's all good no matter where they setup.

Very nice Bill. Very nice. +2 points! This is a great step forward for puppetmasters. Especially those with non-existant budgets.
