I have no problems with the multi-posts, if they occur after new content appears. My problem is with the width of the embedded images. My request would be to simply give the URLs as links, or make the images smaller, or attach them here so the forum creates a thumbnail for each.

I'm not actively playing along, but I do pop in to see where the progress might be happening, or to check for any unsolved puzzle. If the game is being discussed elsewhere, and that community shows more interest than Unfiction, well, I don't think you have any obligation to continue posting updates here, but you're welcome to continue unless someone complains.

Thank you for your reply. Believe it or not, I did make the images smaller, but even then they turned out too big, so I didn't want to resort to thumbnails or links, but I see that it is necessary. Is this game being discussed elsewhere? If it is, then it's news to me. If that is the case, then could you point me in the right direction, because I have looked in other places here and on the internet in general, and other than a fan page on Facebook, I have not found/been made aware of any other place to discuss this.
I'd love to ACTUALLY discuss this more, but if nothing else, I am here to honor the creator(s) and gratify the lurkers.
Have a great weekend Cool

Re: Anthony Wilcox's Blog

So, it's been a couple of weeks since Anthony obtained that image from Henry and he (Anthony) mentioned on his blog that he would update soon and so far there hasn't been any more info.
I am intrigued as hell but even moreso because he mentions that not too long ago something broke down his door (tore it off the hinges) and he had to replace it.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I have been wanting to comment on his blog, especially after reading that part, but I am not sure where the line is and how ARG-y this series means to be. Any thoughts or opinions?

New Anthony Wilcox Tweet

Perfect timing. I had decided that if there was still nothing by tonight, I'd prompt him somehow. Problem solved Wink

It will be very interesting to see where this goes because the photo he received had a lot of interesting shit going on in it and I cannot wait to see his thoughts/reaction and any info he reveals because it will help to flesh out all the other things we either know or have at least speculated upon.

Also, The Amber Room Mystery is intriguing as fuck, anyway and lost art/artifacts, in general. The Smithsonian Channel and The Ovation Channel have some really great programs regarding this and I have watched them all numerous times recently, which makes this kind of eerie for me in a meta way.

Edit to add new Tweets, my reply to his announcement/apology and his reply back:

I'm waiting with bated breath ... Cool

HOLY SHIT!
HOOLEE SHIIIT!

It's back! I've just got back my internet, as I was upgrading it....

SO glad it's not over!

Also glad to see others following it too! This series is EPIC! Following Anthony Wilcox, as well...just to see if he can get to the bottom of this!

I hope Henry hasn't been "taken..."

Welcome back! I was wondering what happened to you because you were all excited and stuff and then we didn't hear from you again. I'm glad to see you back, again.

I am SO glad this is not over, either, because I wasn't ready for it to be and I love the new blog aspect/ new co-protagonist that has been added. That element will add more possibilities and exposition and I am really pleased with the way it's being done.

I am very much looking forward to Anthony Wilcox's next blog update about the missing Amber Room, and very intrigued with the image that Henry sent him and to see what he says about it.

There is "something" going on with Henry, that much is clear. But, to what extent remains to be seen.

I am curious about the audio from the latest update. It sounds like backward music and dialogue and I really want to explore that aspect, but am not sure how to go about it because my new computer lacks a microphone and I'm unsure how to use Audacity without one. Question

Edit to add: Holy shit! I just listened to the audio again, but with headphones and the very last 20 seconds or so sounds like a train! My grandfather was a Master Switchman for the Rock Island line and many is the time I'd sit in his shanty with him and I would know that sound anywhere! Very Happy

So, funny thing just occurred....

Someone on Reddit asked what series were our favorites that I would recommend and I, of course, touted this one. Hope to get more folks watching this and to maybe even interact here.
That's not the funny part though. Afterward, I decided to watch the playlist I made and I had just been extolling the virtues of this series and noting how I am STILL noticing new things in these Logs and how I cannot believe I've missed some things.
So, I'm watching Log #1 and I have seen it sooo many times, and I realized that Parker has a book he's fiddling with on the table in front of him and it dawns on me that it's "THE Book", as in the book (or some iteration thereof) that shows up and is mentioned or referred to numerous times throughout these logs and images and audio files.
How did I miss this?? Well, my guess is that it's owed largely to the creator(s) of this mystery for being very organic and natural (most of the time) in their storytelling/documentation. I give them mad props for making so much of it so easy to miss. Parker is a very fidgety dude and it was only a few moments ago that I noted what he was fiddling with.

Here's hoping that we get some new things to ponder soon. In the meantime, here is an image I was inspired to make recently

Which book is it you're referring to? I watched the series a little while ago, but I don't remember there being a book involved, although that's probably just my slack memory.
May I ask also why it is that you're so sure the series has Lovecraftian roots? I have to say, I don't see any justification for linking it with the Mythos besides the fact that it's a bit creepy.

Have you read any of my posts in their entirety? I ask because if you had, you would know what the references are and they are blatant and not tenuous.
That having been said, here is a list of some of the references that I've found so far:

August Derleth- (Spelled Dereleth in this series) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_Derleth

HPhillips- That should be obvious.

Anthony Wilcox - http://lovecraft.wikia.com/wiki/Henry_Anthony_Wilcox

Of Monuments and Madness - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At_the_Mountains_of_Madness

Parker and Emma - http://lovecraft.wikia.com/wiki/Emma
http://lovecraft.wikia.com/wiki/Parker

Randall Carter - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randolph_Carter

The scene in the birthday Log where Randall's two of Randall's friends have keys around their necks - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dream-Quest_of_Unknown_Kadath
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Silver_Key
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Through_the_Gates_of_the_Silver_Key

The large frog that Randall encounters in the woods on the way to the base - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsathoggua

There are a bunch more, but I think these should be enough.

The book is referenced in Henry's Twitter, Log #18 (he finds it in the suitcase), it's referenced in the audio log that I transcribed earlier in this thread (page 6) "Tape #368: *unintelligible* Randall maybe? "I can still hear the voices off in the distance.I know it's not them. The book has been hidden, kept safe...safekeeping.They want to find it.They still try to find it.It won't let me leave...it can't let me leave…."

Tape #612: "I might've found something in the book.I can't remember….you return there….I'm starting….remembering...this is not becoming a *unintelligible* force.", and the image on page 9 that I posted wherein J. Dereleth is holding a similar book, and the one I already mentioned that Parker was fiddling with.
Along the same line of continuity, there are at least three boxes/cases that are found or referenced that, like the book(s), span a significant amount of time.

I will wait for your reply before I post in further detail, because what I have already posted in this thread I feel is sufficient, and this post should definitely clarify some things.

Edited to clarify.

It's true...the Lovecraft is strong in this.

I've been scouring, but to no avail...has Wilcox unearthed anything yet?

I've been binging WR over the last days (well, day, tbh, that's how binging works Wink), and I can't believe I managed to jump aboard just in time for the third chapter after such a long hiatus when the series could just as well have finished years ago. I'm absolutely thrilled. As you guys say: This series is right up there with the best (not-hollywood-funded) arg-productions to date. The story is both tight and confusing at the same time, and as opposed to all the (other) big ones (mainly Slendy, obviously), the creator seem to have his story down from the very start, instead of making shit up as he goes and slowly loosing his way (and audience).

Amrith, your work has been invaluable. Not only for lurkers: Series like this are watchable years after they finished, just like movies, and to that end your posts here are appreciated long after you finished your work, even if you might never know about it Smile I hope the creator realises that as well.

I have nothing to add to the analysis yet (seeing how I just Lightning McQueened through it), apart from this:
In one of the videos - can't remember which - the text "Welcome back" popped up in the bottom right corner of the screen at some point, supposedly from Henry. At the time it seemed a bit off to me, as it kinda broke the documentary feel of Henrys comments and seemed a bit personal. Prolly nothing, though. However, that "welcome back" was the first thing I thought of first time we saw the initials "wb". I have no idea how wb could possibly mean welcome back, but I thought I'd just throw that in there.

I'm SO glad to be here.

I have been watching The West Records for a long while, and I love it. I am so grateful to find some others to speculate with. I miss Marble Hornets dearly, and I think missing theories and speculations is a great part of why I feel the void of it in my life.
I'm still confused by THIS great and under-appreciated series, but Amreth-THANK YOU for clearing up some things! I'll try to watch the entire series again and add any input. I haven't ever watched them all in a row, as I began in the first chapter. I don't know why it took me this long to turn to my good buddy UnFiction to find some answers and some other watchers, er, whistleblowers! Smile

So, chapter 3 is almost complete and the cast and creators are doing a livestream tonight at 9EST. About an hour, here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCewjUYzc6iTXN1BgsZ3sA4A

Just got caught up with the videos and found the twitter which lead to the blog. So, I'm still catching up but am looking forward to this stream.

Videos of the stream is up and some things were hinted at, some things were told, and some things were made more horrifying by reality. Two points that were brought up is that Twitter has been massively overlooked, and there are things in the videos that were missed. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCewjUYzc6iTXN1BgsZ3sA4A

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Also, there's going to be a surprise tomorrow morning for subscribers of The West Records.

That stream had a huge amount of info, I was taking notes most of the time. After they said how overlooked the twitter page was I went to look at it and it is littered with info that I never knew was there. I am going to look through all of it sometime. Just glancing at it gave me some ideas.
