Lonelygirl15 was a YouTube channel started waaaaay back in the very early days of YouTube, some 8 years ago or so. It appeared to be a video diary (what we these days call a "vlog") by a 15-year-old girl named Bree who sat in front of her webcam and talked about typical teenage life concerns - school, allegedly overbearing parents, recent events, that sort of thing. Occasionally she had a friend with her, a boy her age named Daniel. This channel for some reason became -tremendously- popular; in fact about 4 months after its creation the Lonelygirl15 channel was the most subscribed channel on YouTube, and the situation attracted mainstream media attention.

Eventually, a few viewers began to become suspicious about how "real" the situation was - for a girl sitting at home or wherever with a consumer-grade webcam the videos seemed to be awfully high quality for example. Digging by a growing number of curious people eventually revealed incontrovertibly that the vlog was "scripted", and eventually its creators - including the girl who played "Bree" - came clean about the channel being a work of fiction. After the big reveal, mainstream media attention largely died off - and the channel probably lost a lot of viewer too I imagine; if you'd only heard about Lonelygirl15 via news or internet rumor that's probably the last you heard of the channel.

But, the show didn't stop. Videos kept being produced, as if nothing had happened, with "Bree" still going on talking about teenage things; but the tone began to change. Bree's complaints about her parents started suggesting that they belonged to some kind of strange religion that they were pushing her to become more involved in, but she was resistant. One night after refusing to attend some kind of ceremony, her parents disappeared.

A story eventually developed that Bree's parents belonged to a cult called The Order, allegedly formed or inspired by Aleister Crowley, which was partly devoted to giving its members unnaturally long lives by means of a ritual that involved sacrificing one of a special group of individuals whose blood had some kind of special properties. It turned out that Bree was one such person, and she had been "selected" to be sacrificed. Bree tried to escape with the help of some kind of enemy faction she learned about called "The Watchers" whose mission was to protect people with this special blood type; but eventually she is caught by The Order, brainwashed into helping find more victims with the appropriate blood-type, and finally killed in a ritual. The show kept going for another year after that, following other characters as they tried to pursue new victims or escape a similar fate.

This new video features Bree; it "appears" to be some kind of orientation video for new victims, that would've been made by Bree after her capture and brainwashing, but in it she claims to have gone through the ritual without being killed after all...

Thanks for the heads-up! The podcast was awesome, and I love your profile pic. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is one of my favorites.

EDIT: For those who didn't listen to the podcast, we can keep up with Daniel on Snapchat (he is Danielbeast), and on Facebook, as was previously linked. Daniel has been active on Facebook (he has a couple of videos up already, but they're nothing too important), but so far he's been silent on Snapchat.

 		The video had a puzzle trail hidden within it....I believe most of it is solved now.

The LG15 crew mostly communicate in their own forums and IRC chat

 		Definitely not what I expected to see again after all these years! Thanks for the head start, I'm really going to have to keep my eye on this one.

Do we know if the old channel is going to be the most utilized, or am I going to have to primarily follow things on other social media now? Also thanks for the forums link, Kimmy Very Happy
