[Trailhead] PodcastEntry PodcastEntry is a channel on YouTube which is mainly audio at this point. The Officer is a newly appointed cop in a small area who has been noticing strange things going on that are starting to freak him out. He won't give a name or location for fear of losing his job, but he wants out help to figure out what is going on.
The channel is fairly consistent in it's upload, and the narrator is believable to me. He's slow about getting to the point at times and keeps saying he's skeptical like anyone trying to convince themselves there's nothing out in the dark trying to get him. The story is just starting to unfold on this one an it's worth a look. Not going to talk too much more about it because I'm a bit dense and can't seem to figure out how to make the spoiler tags actually work here.

When you're typing your message, click the "Spoiler" button before the thing you don't want to spoil, and then again at the end. It should have this [ spoiler ] before the spoilers and this [ / spoiler ] afterward (without the spaces). To double-check that you've done it correctly, you can hit the preview button. Hope this helps!
I'll look into the "podcast." Thanks for the tip!

Thank you! I think I've just been clicking the button once and expecting it to work.

Said I was a bit dense, right?

I mess this up so often, I always preview my messages, so I wouldn't say you're dense!
The podcast was pretty cool. I wasn't sold on his narration, but the videos were pretty good and it does a good job of building up tension. I'm hoping for more audience interaction, but you made a subscriber out of me!

I think he's starting to get into the audience interaction. I've gotten a few short responses from him on entry 7, which is also the one entry where he addressed a particular commentator in entry 6. It would be nice to get more response since there aren't too many of us commenting.
I guess my like of the narration stems from him being a cop, and how very worried he is over saying anything to make him look the slightest bit off. I went down the law enforcement route for a long time before figuring out I hate people too much to be a good cop, and the pressure to present as a stable person and conform is very intense. Maybe the narrator meant to invoke that or maybe not, but I found it very interesting.
What would be nice is if Officer there could give us a solid description of what he's seeing.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He's still in denial mode but it sounds like the Rake given what he's said and the fact that he's being played with.
I'm just not sure what's going on with the town people or the footage he found on his phone. Sounds almost cultish to me.

I would say your guess about what it is is probably pretty right-on, especially judging from his description for the videos. I have my guesses about the town.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm guessing they mostly know about the rake, and don't mind it toying with a new person. It's like a Wicker Man sort of thing by my estimation.

I went through the videos again to see if I could piece together where the events are taking place. There's hints scattered through it, but I noticed there was an emphasis placed on audio for Entry 6. When I extracted the audio from it I got a stereo file which only happens when the audio is meant to be that way, usually I just get mono from the program I use.
My hearing is pretty bad so I'm not very good at digging through audio things. Just looking at it in Audacity I could see there's two different audios on there though. The left is extremely quiet, but when enhanced has a lot of noise that almost sounds like words. Or vocal sounds from something. The right is a kind of hum/fan sound that repeats when its not interrupted by a static.
I'm going to play around with it more, but anyone with more reliable ears may find more in it than me.

New video that breaks the naming pattern from before and has interesting audio. I can't make out much, but it looks like the video is circling a house? I'm not sure that Officer uploaded it. Going to see what I can make of the audio.

New entry here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8KNy2XxLGs
As he says, that he makes photographs for his friend etc. I thought the watermark in the bottom left corner of the clip image would be usefull - But it just leads to http://www.dave-derbis.de, which seems to be a real fotographer... just wanted to mention for I´m quite new in this stuff ^^

Super super cool! While I like the reboots of older stuff we've been getting, new original content is always good for me, I wonder if he's going to focus on puzzle solving for viewers or stick to a straight forward narrative/ viewer interaction?

I keep getting nothing from the sound. Not speeding it up or down, or even reversing it. It just sounds like a growl right next to the mike because of the wind sound you get at the same time. That might be all it is. My ears are not the best tool to apply to sound though, so someone else might find something there.

No idea, I just found out the videos had been removed today. I'm wondering if that means the series is going to be rebooted. All the games I've seen that died off didn't bother removing videos. Still subscribed to the channel, so I can see if any other videos get made in the future.
