I just got signed up, too! VVLosAngeles3 is my username and I'm on the Research team (wanted to try and spread out the roles a bit). I also hope that real location isn't too important because I'm a faaar way away from LA.

I also did a small amount of googling and the only other thing that involves TalkieTalk is the 10 Clover Field Lane site (funandprettythings). However it seems kind of weird to me that they'd keep the default squarspace favicon if this was a big JJ Abrams thing... but who knows!

EDIT: Sorry for the bump, but I have to ask, Kidbitter, how did you determine the message was encoded? In what way? I only ask because I'm pretty new to this, too, but I explored a couple of typical avenues (first letters of words/sentences, repeated words/numbers, poking around in the code), but I came up empty.

I returned to the spot again this morning and had more time to look around. Finally found a USB drive with a password protected .zip file that contains a .WAV file. We are trying to figure out the password and I'll post it once we get the audio file.

Probably adding white noise, but: the Molotov in the posters that Perko posted appears to be a reference to the Scotch molotov from 10 Cloverfield Lane, and the text on it... anyone know Japanese?

If I remember correctly the Japanese spells out "fan made" or something to that effect. It's been very well done though.

Yeah, it does say "fan made." I'm really late to the party, sorry! RL has been kicking my butt. I had no idea there had been anything going on at E3! Too bad!! I mean, not that I went or anything.

Does anyone have screencaptures or anything? Most of the Imgur stuff here is already gone. So, is this whole thing really a fan effort? Not that I mind, but I'd like to know anyways. Is this info coming off of the subr? I hate to have to delve back into there to get anywhere. Razz
