 		Yeah, this whole path thing is probably where I check out of this.

I keep getting this vibe from modern masters that I get once in a while from people.

You ever meet someone doing an arg, or roleplaying something and they're really, really into it? And after a while you finally realize they truly believe that there's a corporation that is making mind controlling milkshakes and selling them in Japan, or they really are a dwarven prince in exile?

Modern masters if just getting too convincing into the whole 'no really, this is just a game...about unlocking magical hidden powers you have inside you, if only you can be harmonic and hug your spirit animal and/or aliens really, really hard.'

Not to mention John's 'skill sheet' post he made on the forums read like a cult leader.

Their posts often mix 'in game' and 'out of game' so often I'm not sure this is a 'game' at all to them.

Yeah, I've been checked out for a while for two main reasons, one of which is what you just said. I got that feeling as soon as John appeared on the wack-a-do radio program (which I listened to for two and a half hours). I also felt like they might not be the best puzzle makers. Making players count over three thousand characters for a puzzle is pretty tedious and unfortunate. In any case, it was fun while it lasted.

 		@Spirit: Took me a day or two. Their site has been super quiet lately though. Their forum has been stale for a couple weeks at least, and the only real activity is UFO stuff which, well that ain't my bag.

Their twitter did mention there was one puzzle out there no one has cracked yet. I'm guessing that's the latin email that no one can be bothered to learn latin to read. I admit I spent half a day trying to refresh my 1 semester of latin to the point I could actually pull a meaning out of it. I rarely say spending time learning something new is a waste of time, but that was pretty much a waste of my day.

And oh look, more latin today. "Find Lor Ipsum". or most likely 'find him'. Does that mean Javier? Does that mean the mysterious professor Mitchell P. Orlius who doesn't exist in some likely Mandella effect/quantum suicide shenanigans? No idea, google can't translate that and I can make no heads or tails of it.

Edit: And yeah, while I've pretty much given up on this I figure they're at least putting in the time and effort to build this up it deserves a bump in case anyone else cares.

Edit 2 : I just noticed they have a FAQ up which includes this:
