The two girls who brutally attacked their friend were not members of the Slenderverse community, they were morally malnourished children who had no distinction of reality and fantasy. They had no consideration for the consequences regardless of whether their friend lived or not.

If one of the slenderverse series creators had an accident or one of the prominent members of the community had a medical emergency, then I would gladly pay money in solidarity to help someone in my community who needs my help. To be best of my knowledge the County of Waukesha organised a fundraiser for the victim, as it should be. Their community is much closer to the victim and clearly let these two sociopathic children slide right by and do this.

So no, don't donate money based on their stupidity. No vlog advocated this kind of behaviour, no forum suggested doing this and no wiki tell anyone to do anything. Paying money would be exactly what FOX, CNN, Larry King and all the others want. They want us to feel guilty. Which we are not.


What nonsense. I've donated money for example to ACS; is that tantamount to taking "responsibility" for people getting cancer? If I donate some money to help the city hospital build a new burn wing am I copping to arson? Of course not - it's silly to even entertain the idea.

I don't mind donating; it has nothing to do with guilt. You're actually going to post here encouraging people to NOT donate money to help an innocent violent crime victim?


I think Cyan was quite clear: It has nothing to do with your own guilt, but it makes all of us who are fans somehow seeming to be guilty if we pony up because of two idjit kids. It sends a mixed message: it looks as if you're trying to have things both ways, to enjoy something like a Slender Man series (or MH, which really isn't a Slender Man series) and say that it's divorced from any purported impact it may have in the real world and then yet pay some money to someone claiming to be adversely affected by that series... It can look to some like some sort of vague admission of culpability. It's almost as if twenty years ago, when that woman got scalded because her McDonald's coffee was "TOO hot," you called her a money-grubbing, overly litigious attention whore, then rethought it and thought, well, maybe I should boycott McDonald's until they redesigned their lids, because I know I hate getting burned by coffee, and then decided you really wanted coffee, so you'd switch to drinking only iced coffee there.

You can give as much money as you want to whomever you want. But you should be clear about your motivation for doing so.

 		Nobody whatsoever has "claimed to be adversely affected" by MH. The idea that anyone - whether it be the parents of the girl who was almost murdered, or the police, or the press - has somehow been blaming "Slender Man" story writers (or their fans, or members of things like this forum) for what happened to the victim is provably false - it's fiction, paranoia cooked up by alarmists anticipating a backlash that never materialized. "Creepypasta" writers - heck, even Surge himself has been quoted for press pieces about the case and there hasn't even been the slightest hint that anybody anywhere feels creators or fans are to blame.

Utterly ridiculous, to tell people they shouldn't donate because it makes "the community" somehow look guilty. What "community"? Bunch of people in an internet forum you go to that you otherwise have nothing to do with except that you all watched a YouTube show? Gimme a break.

I know right, like wtf. That's more terrifying than actual Slenderman series on youtube as that's real. They are so calm about it all.

 		Is it possible Morgan Geyser has schizophrenia, passed down from her father's genes? Yes. Is it possible for someone who is not aware they suffer from schizophrenia to act out an act of violence? Yes. Do I think that is the case with Morgan Geyser? Hell no.

In personal believe, no offense to the mother and father of Morgan, but this to me seems like another B-S excuse to get her off easy by making an insanity plea. What about the other girl? Will she plead insanity too?
