How about all of us? Everyone would probably be more than happy to pitch in to help out one of our beloved PM's.

Ubersaurus, part of the Clan Tomato Fountain.

Not, of course, to be confused with ketchup.

I actually mentioned the training exercises idea.

*angelo prepares to begin coordinating again*

Any one that's interested in either being a 'trainer' or being a 'trainee' please pm me.

I have a few ideas that I think might help people, but if any of you have ideas of things you'd like to see, or areas you need specific help with feel free to pm me.

One of the things I'm going to start on is a beginners guide. It'll list some basic strategies, weapon combos that seem to work well, etc. (any one with info that should be in this guide pm me).

Then I was also thinking of hosting some games for training purposes only. It will kind of be a Q/A session along with some actual training. Then we'd have scrimages between the trainees with the trainers watching so we could give you some pointers after the game.

Any other ideas are welcome.

I'd definitely be up for a few training matches. Just tell me when and I'll be there. Thankfully, I'm improving a bit. From last night:

Of course, angelo wasn't there, so I wasn't spending most of my time respawning. Razz

I'm in. I'd love to learn some and help if necessary.

I'd love if we could get better at tatical games, like CTF, king of the hill, etc. These games are so much more fun when they're better organized and involves real teamwork! I think I had 2 great CTF games, one in Zanzibar and one in Coagulation.

King of the hill is definitely my favorite. I don't think I (or my team) has lost in a match I've played yet.

angelo showed us around a couple maps this evening, then we tried huddling together to see what kind of different medals we could collect. That was fun. I do still need quite a bit of training though. I'd love some tips on how to use the different weapons. I'd say the pistol is my best weapon (that was where the 53% accuracy came from), but I struggle with the SMGs, Needler, Sniper Rifle, and in some respects, the sword. That could be why I failed so miserably for the first few days. I relied almost extensively on the rifle for the first Halo, and that weapon is completely gone. The Battle Rifle is ick.

Just want to comment about accuracy.

I have some friends that have very good accuracy, but still cannot do well on this game! Basically, they just shoot when they are almost certain they are going to hit. In the end, they just take too long to shoot and waste some kill oportunities.

I think accuracy should not make you too picky on the shots you take. There's gotta be a balance between shooting whenever you have a (even a small) chance to hit and the chance of being caught reloading when your opponent is still shooting you.

A question for all of you. What's your look sensitivity set at? I'm using 7 now, but I wish I could go higher ... I just don't have enough control over 7. Look sensitivity pretty important!

Yes I agree, look sensitivity is one of the most important parts. Like I said in a previous post, I play Halo1 with a 9 look sensitivity. In multiplayer I can spin on people, and circle around them so fast they don't know what to do.

Right now for Halo2 it's still at the default. I'm going to up it a few clicks and run through campaign in heroic now to train myself on the new setting. I had a guy yesterday that I couldn't touch because he upped his sensitivity a lot and was literally running circles around me.

Have a nice day

You know... not once, in all my Halo or Halo 2 playing, did I ever mess with the stick sensitivity...

Maybe that's my downfall. But then again, I can make drastically difficult headshots with sniper weapons, so I don't know if I should compromise that skill.

Look sensitivity will interfere with your sniping skills. You're gonna have to readjust a little. It's possible to be even better with a sniper rifle with a medium-high sensitivity. Basically, you have to find your happy medium.

In Halo1, I had sensitivity 8, but with dual wielding, I find 8 a bit high for me on Halo2, so I'm using 7. I might give 8 another shot now that I'm not shooting all over the place with dual wielding anymore.

well, as long as you're careful when you choose to do so, you can change your look sensitivity during the match, i.e. lower it when you're gonna snipe and up it when you plan on getting in close quarters. i know it's not always feasible, but on maps like waterworks or headlong, it's a bit safer to do so.

Didn't know you could mess with the settings like that. I might have to test that out, especially if my nemesis TridenT starts doing so...

I've been having trouble with the sniper rifle in Halo 2 - is it possible that they changed the 'feel' of the weapon since the original game?

I haven't touched my look sensitivity in all my years of playing halo...

maybe that's why I suck so bad... Wink

Ok, first OFFICIAL training exercise will be sceduled for wednesday, November 17 at 8:00p.m. CST.

I'm not sure how many people are interested so I'm going to go the reservation route. If you plan on being there pm me and I'll add your name to my list. If I get 15 reservations then those people will get priority as far as joining my game is concerned. Obviously any open spots will be fair game, but I don't want anyone to be left out. If I get more then 15 I will scedule a second trainer at that time to take the over flow.

The main training areas for the first session are listed below. I'm not quite sure how many we'll get too, but this is the list of things we will use to guide the class. Anything that is left out will be covered in the next session.

MAIN TRAINING AREAS:
* Map placement of weapons
* Efficent weapons usage
* Efficent grenade usage
* Team coordination

(Categories are subject to change. Refer to this post regularly to check for changes)
