 		Zobot I think all you said there makes sense. I too feel strongly that he is in.His part in this show is definitely the everyday Joe, one of us who gets sucked into it.

There are a couple of things that have shown up elsewhere that are not on unforum yet so the ones I have noted are:

Some morse code in the latest video from Marre Sadc0re on reddit:

You may have picked up from earlier posts, that the winners competition number is 00616.

616 is the true number of the devil, as written by Dante in 'Inferno'.

These two concurrent beast references again lead me to think he is in on it.


That image, is supposedly a screen grab from our man, would someone mind checking it for stegged things or other hidden bits n bobs?

If, anything is found in this, it would prove he's in game as this came from him directly.

...looking back, yeah, you're right. I do see he posted here a few times. Well, shit. Now I don't know WHAT to believe. Either he's legit, or the PMs aren't respecting Unforum's rules, which is a no-no.

He's still not ACTING legit, but posting in Unforum is unprecidented, mind.

A few questions for you, though. Where did you see that thing from Marre Sadc0re, by the way? I missed that.

Also, isn't it "666" that's the number of the beast?

 		Welp, sent an email to Spectacular Organic. If Gwhitehurst3 IS a character, than he asked us to send emails to the company protesting things, so I did. ANd if he's legit, it's the right thing to do. So I sent it. I gave them my phone number, but not my address. Let's hope I don't vanish in the night too.

That's odd though, as I have known for far further back than 2005 that 616 is the original number of the beast. Dante was certainly not around then. I'm sure Alistair Crowley banged on about it too, The numbers neatly add to 13 which is a wonderful number when we get into Theology.....

What is going on with the in game posting here, have we used this guys posts to make any assumptions in our work so far?

Can we message him here on unforum? or does he get a straight ban now?

It is odd. As if he is in game, he refers to things that I have not seen a character in game do before. Mentioning the Wix website, talking about social networking in the round and the fact the it seems he has not contacted the police - were his address details on his medical form?

If so, If he hasn't called the cops to alert them then someone else will have done.

Is there an account of this game developing anywhere, a wiki or something chronological?

and just as a sidenote, This game seems to be encouraging us to feel that someone with an understanding of classics is behind this. All the poems and lit. references. I remember reading one of the morse messages was a quote from Yeats and this 616 and beast business is clearly Dante.

Eveything after the lottery winner is a bit fuzzy but essentially Spectacular Organic Corporation claims Grayson Whitehurst won the lottery and accepted the trip to Toronto to meet them. Whitehurst himself however denies accepting the prize and claims that Spectacular Organic Corp is now threatening him via Email.

At this point I don't really know if gwhitehurst is a player or a PM, but for the sake of argument I'd like to point out a few things that counter the idea that he's a character.

People have argued that his medical records are too clean, but didn't a lot of people fake theirs? I've mostly heard that people gave themselves some kind of defect in the hopes it would make them a more likely candidate, but what if it was the opposite? Maybe SpecOrg was looking for the best possible specimen to prove that it's possible to push and surpass the limits of humanity as a species.

There's also the argument that he hasn't mentioned contacting the police on reddit, but hasn't it already been established that SpecOrg controls r/specorgcorp? I don't know that it's likely, but it's possible that SpecOrg is falsifying the reddit to make gwhitehurst seem like as much of a character as possible, despite how much he seems like a real person.

I don't have much to say against the fact that he isn't communicating outside of reddit, except maybe that if he's been lurking for 3 years (if his account's genuine) it might just be the only place he visits regularly. Why go to a bunch of different websites you don't have accounts on to talk, when no one would normally be listening?

Counterpoint: Yes, a lot of people probably DID fake their medical information for the application. However, that doesn't prove or disprove Gwhitehurst's legitimacy in any way. if anything, it reveals an underlying flaw in SpecOrg's contest: they have to take at face value the information that people submit, without any way of confirmation. If that information is falsified it means they'll have unknown variables in their experiment which could affect it in unintended ways. One would assume they'd factcheck the submitted data by confirming it with legitimate medical records after selecting a contestent, likely by having the contestent in question sign a waiver releasing their medical history from their doctors or physicians. But there's no way we'd ever get to see that part if this is a game, since it's visually boring to observe. That being said, that point neither serves to validate Gwhitehurst's cry for help, nor does it serve to prove he's part of the game.

The argument that the SpecOrg reddit is under control of SpecOrg is a better argument, but let's consider that for a moment. If it was directly under their control, it'd make sense to delete Gwhitehurst's outcries directly and in mass, instead of just deleting any responses he/she/they post to cries that they should contact the authories. Deleting only "yes I called the police" responses makes Gwhitehurst look dodgy, but otherwise has no impact on anything at all. Gwhitehurst's objections STILL make SpecOrg look shady. You'd have to come up with a scenario where SpecOrg WANTS Gwhitehurst to look suspicious while still dragging their own name through the mud. While I'm not ruling out the possibility of that, I can't think of a reason why they'd do that when they could just BAN Gwhitehurst and delete his posts, covering it up entirely. As they said in their videos, the previous codes and clues were "just a viral marketing campaign". They just want us to see them as a legitimate, non-suspicious business.

It's worth noting that they DID send a letter to the mod of the SpecOrg reddit (supposedly) stating that they want him to curate their presence there and to disallow things that make them look suspicious, but good luck on enforcing THAT. The entire SpecOrg reddit is talking about this stuff, and it's very very difficult to prune all the stuff that doesn't make SpecOrg look good without pulling the Reddit page down entirely. I can only conclude that SpecOrg (the fictional company) doesn't control the SpecOrg reddit directly, but are trying to control it INDIRECTLY to some extent.

The last argument you raise, Spook, is probably your strongest. There's not a lot of reason for Gwhitehurst to come to Unforum about this, which is where there's admittedly less people to see his message. I... Don't have a good counterpoint for that. But while I don't have any good arguments for or against his presence here, I'll point this out again: Unforum is meant to be a place where people can discuss and work on ARGs WITHOUT being part of the ARG themselves. Having characters comment here about things muddies the waters, which I'm PRETTY sure is technically against the rules? Haven't checked the terms of use for Unforum in a little while, but I remember it was considerd a no-no when I registered. And it makes sense. Look at games like Ben Drowned, where things a single player said could have dramatic impact on the in-game characters, often in undesirable ways. Players NEED a place to discuss things that's out-of-game so that they can reach a conclusion without worrying about what they're discussing shaping the game.

...then again, that's based on a perspective that there should be some semibalance of fairness in the universe. Which doesn't always correspond to reality. So I might just be ranting angrily for no reason. Sorry.

However, realistically, I don't see the harm in this case. Gwhitehurst has, by and large, not really been a character the players control or influence. We've talked with him, but never really directed him or fed any puzzle clues or anything to him. Our suggestions have fallen on deaf ears, and he's thus far shown only to be informing us of SpecOrg's transgressions, much like the last character we met did.

So yeah. Either way, it doesn't matter. But I wish I knew what we should be doing...

I can't argue with most of that, but a possible scenario where they'd want both him and themselves to look shady, is if: SpecOrg is a game; gwhitehurst is a player; They want us to continue to guess either way while drawing more attention to the game, and also keep gwhitehurst's reactions realistic.

That's just a possibility, even if not a likely one. Like I said, I don't know either way, and I don't really mind not knowing. In all honesty, I'm enjoying trying to puzzle it out without enough evidence (or at least evidence that's pretty subjective).

In the doc, it shows a screen grab from the product lottery advert and the tabs along the top of the we browser. There is a screen grab here on UF, but it cuts off the fourth tab. The heading in this reads 'One nation under us'

you can also see it at about 41 sec in the PL1 vid.

Its not the biggest bit of info, but relevant, That latin text around the beetle in the photo of the old field / cult translates into good old imperialist sound bites! Supero Omnia - Above all.


Spook and Zobot - You both mention that SpecO might have a hand in the admin of the reddit group? I don't like that too much. I haven't seen the email asking to keep it SpecO friendly.

Both of you brought that up and Zobot went on to say that ( roughly & sic) "Unforum should be OOG"

I cannot agree enough, and that's why the rule is there. Unforum is our open group conciousness, it's where we throw it all in and see what floats, then chase down these ideas, codes and thoughts with something that resembles group pier review analysis.

We must know which clues we run with, and where they come from so we can properly analyse them - lets be fair this game has already shown us that it's puzzles and clues are not going to be the easiest to work out.

I imagine that once this is running at it's full pace, we will need an active and collabrative forum in here working it all out. Not unlike PC all that time ago.

However...... Gwhitehurst posting here does underline his 'normal person' position. If that's the case and what he wanted or needed to do - it's done . Please can we ban him and send a quiet note to SpecO that Unforum is OOG.

Zobot - agreed, the interaction so far with GWhitehurst here has not been influential. He made a point that the photo may have been planted for Doug to find, which it seemed not many ran with. Not least I think because Doug admitted to having it and to seeing it for an extended period of time on reddit. Otherwise he reposted a link, and at the point of his entry into this prize draw he seems to have gone to post on reddit only.


-SPECULATION-

Given all that has happened, here and elsewhere I have sat and pondered about how I would run this campaign and what I would do if I was taking over the world with a genetically enhanced mutation based beverage. (not for the first time....)

My assumptions are - SpecO or the puppetmasters are not going to respect or adhere to typical arg rules. As this game has very much been presented in our world, i think they will use anything in our world to fuel it. If you made a post 6 yrs ago on twitter - it might come in. I think this game is going to expose just how much information humans dish out these days and really, really freak people out.

G Whitehurst is going to Canada. by hook or crook. I expect to see posts and whimperings of his resistance and fear as he gets close to breakfast 1, then a transformation over the week into 'Wow this juice has made me better! I am a better Me!'

He's then done with. we may get hints to the results of the drink, he may be dispatched off with side effects, or just disappear. We have seen the everyday Joe consumed by the big group. Then it's us.

Next, I think this is going to get much more real. I think the aim is to make us truly feel we are in game, regardless of forum website or whatever we are using to talk about it.

If this was my campaign the next thing I would do would be to take this local. I would make sure that the interested player groups start to see SpecO images and ad's in all sorts of normal places. And with a little bit of thought, this does not need to cost a lot of money.

I often promote bands a musical groups all over the UK. I spent a while gathering all the names, address and info for the free adverts in newspapers and local business advertisers and local community radio stations in Britain by county into a spreadsheet.

Before you know it, you have a far wider coverage than a national campaign in one tabloid. You also have access to more intelligent folks who read things other than 'the daily hate' AND it costs 0 - not very much at all.

This is one of my mechanics , my point is that with a little thought you can arrange a huge marketing campaign and output for little capital.


If I was running this, I would make you scared to not drink it.

He's then done with. we may get hints to the results of the drink, he may be dispatched off with side effects, or just disappear. We have seen the everyday Joe consumed by the big group. Then it's us.

Next, I think this is going to get much more real. I think the aim is to make us truly feel we are in game, regardless of forum website or whatever we are using to talk about it.

If this was my campaign the next thing I would do would be to take this local. I would make sure that the interested player groups start to see SpecO images and ad's in all sorts of normal places. And with a little bit of thought, this does not need to cost a lot of money.

I often promote bands a musical groups all over the UK. I spent a while gathering all the names, address and info for the free adverts in newspapers and local business advertisers and local community radio stations in Britain by county into a spreadsheet.

Before you know it, you have a far wider coverage than a national campaign in one tabloid. You also have access to more intelligent folks who read things other than 'the daily hate' AND it costs 0 - not very much at all.

This is one of my mechanics , my point is that with a little thought you can arrange a huge marketing campaign and output for little capital.

I could have SWORN there was a post made by a user on reddit, erik_bart23, that included as an attachment a letter he got from SpecORG asking him to "please moderate his subreddit or else we'll take legal action". I'm abridging that, clearly, but...

It doesn't matter, since I cannot substantiate proof now. The letter, if it ever existed, is gone, as are posts I remember reading on Reddit saying that erik_bart23 is related to gWhitehurst in some way. And I don't have a copy of the letter. I didn't think to save it.

Zobot - you weren't imagining things! Definitely worth a look through those links, after which I was looking through the /r/specorg thing on reddit and came across a chat or string or whatever they call it there, called 'curious...'


There is a link to a photograph that links Erik and gWhitehurst in this, and a link to the now deleted documentary about erik, made by gwhitehurst on his yt account.


Be warned - I lost interest in this game after reading these posts. Reading these will not add to the theatre at all, and it seems these threads have picked apart the very VERY thin vale that they (the PM's) are disguising themselves through.

I might not have posted this, but i feel fairly similar to one of the reddit posters in the curious thread who say's he's disapointed.

I have spoilered and not linked these two pages - if you are going to continue playing along with the game then maybe miss these links out.

Again - these will not help out with the game itself, but more explain a little about the relationship between the PM's. It also goes on to criticise the way in which players have had comments closed down, and the lack of effort into putting a curtain up between the writers and us.


So for the sake of those who want to play on as is, i'm spoilering my thoughts below.

I hope - TRULY - that gWhitehurst does the decent thing, Erik drops his moderator positions on reddit and let the game be cast and played as it should be.


This is a story with a sense of depth and substance to it and I would really like to see it grow, develop and continue. One of the many impressive areas is the level of detail, thought and the effective suspension of disbelief created by the videos, the subject matter and the air around spec org's history and future. Clearly, lots of time love and effort put in to these areas.


It's a real shame that not even a moments thought has been put into basic things, such as simply not using the names the PM's have registered on major social networking engines which are open for all to see; containing information which absolutely contradicts comments and posts made by gW who after being exposed still repeats them. This IS directly calling me and all the other players stupid.

u/gW - Stop posting on unforum even if you think your post will be Very informative. If you want this game to continue to entertain decent folk, do the decent thing, quickly.


Erik - Moderating your own arg is like laughing over heartily at your own jokes.
