Still here, for now, it would be wrong to say all that then not look in and see if they have brushed up, I really like this game, that's why i got a bit annoyed.

So re this video, I've seen some bits, I'm just time checking a few of them and checking over on reddit, i'll see if i can get everything found so far into one post...

They spelt Objectvie wrong......

Right then my lovelies, I have found and seen some stuff in this vid, and the folks on the terribly formatted website have found more. I'm going to do my best to make sure i'm not plagiarising and including the author who found or first posted the find.

0:54 - image attached. at this point the video has four superimpositions laid on top of the stop frame background video. This image to me look like someone on a medical bed, the hand visible would not suit any of the people walking by in the background, so i'm fairly confident that his is an image of interest.

0:55 - image attached. the overlaid video image in the bottom left corner displays 'Yes!'. is this from a previous tv spot?

1:18 - Text at bottom of screen attached as image. Please note the flagrant disregard for grammar - THREE commas before 'and'.

[–]dictionarysquirrel has posted a link to gWhitehursts instagram. a picture showing GW with security camera's pointing at him. Reddit was edited while i posted this here, and [–]dictionarysquirrel's second comment has been removed. He comment contained his observation that the link to this image no longer works because just after he posted it, the instagram image and account was removed. This comment has been deleted from reddit.

Erik still moderates this topic on reddit.

 		Reddit in canon/Unfiction postings
Okay, so it looks like erikbart is recruiting other mods for SpecOrgCorp. I've been invited and accepted.

I'm not at all part of the game. I'm a soccer mom posting from my phone in the car line. I've never modded anything. I use Reddit for scary stories and pet lizard advice. I know dick-all about ARG's compared to most of you-- I followed Pronunciation Book and 10 cloverfield lane, but I was more a passive observer.

It's my understanding that I can post here because I am a player and not part of the game, but if that is incorrect, someone stop me. I'd like to have a place to discuss and observe that isn't in canon if I'm taking over at the SpecOrgCorp subreddit, especially since I have no idea how to mod.

So, can I post here? Can I read here? I swear I'm not involved.

Welcome to the boards, and yes players, lurkers, and watchers all welcome, just no PM's posting on their own games here!

And yes I heard that the Mod permissions are being delegated on Reddit, great idea, additionally, there is a second sub setup now too.

This place of course always was and is oog, and none of your posts will be edited or deleted by anyone but you, usual forum rules apply of course.


Now then, there is a new countdown on Twitter, and none of us so far, reddit or here have managed to get the most recent morse code....

Trying to isolate the morse code in audacity is proving more difficult than I thought it would. :/

The damn robot voice is just too loud and talks over most of it.

Morse - I have exactly the same problem.

It is so very tempting to buy those...

It's not very expensive to buy a URL most of the time. These ones are keyworded with 'organic' though, but i bet the ones you have found are not too pricey.


I'm not getting far with this audio. I have split the track into two mono files, hoping as you suggested on reddit that the morse would be one one side.

I have inverted the phase on one chan and removed the voice perfectly, but the synth is still there, and there's no morse, or unforutunatley, no gaps where the morse was (which would be just as useful)

Coffee Tops,

I wondered if the morse was just on one side of the audio but not, flipped phase 180 and got rid of th female voice nicely, but, also got rid of any evidence of a code as far as i can see.

Who got the other bits of morse, and what method did they use?

 		While I'm not the best at audio editing I somewhat understand the concepts and have an idea for how to isolate. Maybe someone with better understanding take this and run with it.

In this redit post someone found the TTS site used to generate the vocals for the videos.

Can't we get a sample of the TTS and then isolate high and low frequencies it uses through something like audacity? Then open the new video and use both a high pass and low pass filter to remove the voice and leave any other sounds?

I guess the problem would be if the morse code happens to exist in the same range as the voice that's being remove but maybe its worth a try?

This is my first unfiction post.
One of us over in Reddit had a similiar idea. But instead of sampling the TTS, it was just using the site to make the voice say the same thing as was said in the video, and then using that to cancel out the voice in the original. Can that work?

That's essentially what I was suggesting just in way more words lol. My method would essentially remove anything in range of the range used by the voice. The issue would be if the morse happens to share the same range as the voice.

Oddly enough I still haven't been able to hear the morse at all so maybe I'm just deaf.

Unless SpecOrg is posting on his facebook page, whitehurst is alive and well. He posted to facebook 3 hours ago.

So what are your opinions: is he really not in game (not likely), in game but pretending to be oog by leaving his social media accounts open (maybe), or in game and oblivious to the fact he has his social media is publicly viewable (I hope not).

Aerobane & Asshole Moose - Hello and welcome to the boards!

You brought up an audio question and a very smart bit of thinking. In principle, you have the right idea. if you can mimic exactly the sound you wish to remove - perfectly, then you should be able to take a recording of it, flip it - invert the phase (its becomes a -1, instead of a 1) and when you play that along with the original they should cancel out.

As long as the mimic is perfect - exactly the same sound, this will work.

Using the same TTS pretty much makes sure that you do have exactly the same sound - clever, elementary thinking.

Unfortunately from everything I have tried and can see, your suspicion is also correct and the morse unfortunately is heavily complicated in the same frequency range as the voice.

I have listened intently for hours now, I can hear the two or maybe three characters before she speaks, and then a succession after her voice. But I have found no way of removing / ducking / cancelling out the voice that does not make the morse disappear too.

I took the audio to a radio station in Norwich, and sat in the editing suite with another sound engineer and the oldest person I could find ( Thanks Tim!! ) who understands morse.

I though maybe, he just might 'hear it' because he's much more familiar.

Tim and myself have uncovered what we both agree to be...... one letter.

we're sure the first letter is U.

edit - i didn't answer your question. Let's be fair, I think this game has got a little more early attention than they thought it would do.

The first 'normal guy' is Doug. (Dead.)

The next is 'our man' gW. we get to watch him slowly get taken away and meddled with. The hook being that we can interact and therefore become emotionally reactive as gW is a 'real' person. It's making us care.

so they prove they can get to people, then they prove they can get to us! Once gW is dealt with, (Dead.) post October - it's him, her, them, you me, everybody.

Everybody.

The congruency is that anyone who knows anything about SpecO who tries to tell us their thoughts ends up dead.


I bet 50p - The update on Oct 1 will not be the much anticipated release of pictures of our protagonists Dick, Grayson will be the surprise, but I bet they present the hollow, man removed, better version of him and sell it to us.



* please note i didn't just mention that to satisfy a need to use slightly coarse language, Dick Grayson was the name of Robin in the original Batman series, and I have been looking for a sentence in which I could plop those two words next to each other for a few days!
