 		I was just looking over the hidden frames in Fortunes again-- http://imgur.com/a/RgDRz --and they seem to all be related to Noah being stuck on the boardwalk.

Just speculation, but I'm guessing it's the knife he's holding in DEATHTRAPEXODUS, he puts the Severance symbol on it and slices his hand. As to why it's there, maybe Firebrand left it for him for just that reason, and it says DIE because ol' Brandy has to basically torture him into doing what he wants? I could be totally off, but Noah has to get that knife somehow, after all...

See, I thought that this was a cut on Noah's hand as well… but "DEATHTRAPEXODUS" seems to indicate that it's actually one of the eyes on Firebrand's palm. Or maybe it's both, somehow? We've already established that the ammunition box is where Karl keeps Sebastian's journal and the blade, though.
