I think he always intended to do that, but wanted the first few videos to be blog style because that's what they are in-universe, and it gives exposition well. All in all, I think it's kinda neat, if for nothing but the fact that he dared to do something completely out of the norm.

The series has one more season and then it will be finished. The acting in season 2 was less than lackluster, as was the script. Nothing about this series was anything more than a student film, and it showed. I'll watch it, but my expectations are set very low.
