 		Dr. Fenfang Hon answered my emails : I tell her that Dr Sivakov & Dr. Walker were sharing information about their experience. I asked if she has numbers or a tune in mind since her own experience in the chinese shell.
Here is her reply :

 		Same here. I got a response to my email I sent her yesterday. I told we were a working group interested in heptapod language, working right now on two series of number and its relationship with math or music.

Her response:

There is one major departure point between our experiences. While I seem to have been fixated on numbers, I do not have a strange sequence of seven numbers like you both do. I have only one number. I see it when I close my eyes. It reoccurs in my dreams. The number 8.

I have spent weeks trying to discover what this number 8 means. At first I thought it had to relate to the visitors. Perhaps they don't have 7 feet, but 8? But that doesn't make any sense.

A few nights ago, I had a waking dream. The number 8 was prominent. In Chinese, we sometimes use this character for 8: 八. I saw this floating in the air above me. It was a Bā, an 8, certainly. But in that way in dreams that a thing can also be another thing, it was also a tunnel. And I imagined a line of numbers entering the tunnel, but when they came out the other side they were something different. I awoke, with a strong conviction that I had just seen a code. I didn't know what code, but I felt that whatever it was, 8 was the key to understanding it.

A few moments later, I learned that you were trying to contact me. And now I find that you both have strange sequences of numbers. This cannot be a coincidence. Though I confess I do not know what the next steps could be.

"8" as 8 bits binary coding ?

here is Sivakov list in binary, with leading "0" for 110 & 070

110 : 01101110
156 : 10011100
159 : 10011111
149 : 10010101
160 : 10100000
140 : 10001100
070 : 01000110

I try doodling them with differents orders (given by Walker's numbers), but nothing relevant seems to appear...

 		Long new addition to the Conversation (now 3-way, color coded, which I cannot reproduce here). They've figured out the "Louise" message....

Okay, I think I'm wrong. Because these don't actually add up to anything. Arkady, your numbers were 110 156 159 149 160 140 070. But 159 and 149 are not valid octet numbers (they end in 9). And the rest decode to nothing: 110=H

140=`
070=8

And my numbers are worse - they don't map to characters at all, but commands.

I don't think it is related to the 7 appendages of our visitors. I think your dream about it being a code is correct. When I was in school, the linguists and the mathematicians had an ongoing, friendly rivalry. There were a lot of pranks and contests, and it would often involve encoding and decoding letters into numbers and vice-versa. We all got to learn the various ASCII encodings pretty well. Something about our strings of numbers has been bothering me — the fact that they're all three-digits. Do you know what else is three digits? Octal-to-text encoding.

 		New (short) video added to the Skype folder introducing Louise Banks as a new member of the Dr Walker's team. Also, new additions to the conversation doc.

Summarized: They think "Louise?" decodes to "Ask Louise", so Louise Banks will be in the center of the plot from now on.
