So, we had 'trainer training' last night....

It wasn't really so much training, as an opprotunity for a bunch of players to run around 'trying' not to shoot each other while angelo yelled at them as if he were their mother... (I hate that angelo guy...)

It was super productive. Wink

But it did reveal some issues that I hope to resolve for the trainee session tonight.

First off the game will be invite only. We had a ton of people jump into our game and randomly shoot people while we tried to explain we where just doing a level walkthrough...

Second, everyone that is a trainee will be red, and I will choose some other color (probably yellow) so that everyone knows who exactly they
should be following.

Third, DO NOT FIRE UNLESS I SAY SO. Last night was a ton of fun, but we didn't get anything accomplished because every five minutes some one was firing their weapon, or beating someone over the head. Last night it wasn't a big deal to me because I could tell that the majority of the players knew what they were doing. Tonight on the other hand it will be a big deal to me. If someone is continually messing around and is not allowing those that really want to learn something to learn I will boot you. No questions asked, no apologies made. Feel free to join me in games after the training, but during the training I am there for those that are interested in getting better... (ok, off the soapbox...)

Those are my main concerns that are coming to mind right now. If you were there last night and can think of any other potential issues please post away.

Side note: I had an awesome time with you guys last night, please don't get the idea that I am dissapointed in how last night went because I'm not. I wasn't trying to 'help' you guys as much as I was trying to assess what you all knew, which is exactly what I got to see. So thanks, and I look forward to our next 'trainer training' session....

My apologies for coming right in at first and sniping you guys on ivory tower...I didn't realize you had started the training session already since I was early Very Happy. I agree with hopefully tonight we can keep it a little more informative and such. You know, taking your fingers off the triggers really helps eliminate those "accidental" firings Wink. And one thing for everyone to remember; always make sure your mike isn't muted before you try to say something...that seems to help out immensely Laughing . Can we maybe go over some capture the flag and assault strategies if we get the time tonight? I know that's one area where I'm completely worthless right now.

In case you didn't know, you can change the settings so that the ppl can only join your game if they're invited

I agree about working on the CTF and assault modes. I think some people need help on the weapon finding and learning the map, but even the best of us need help on CTF and assault strategies. I played a few clan matches (SPDR Ninjas) after the training last night and we won the first 2, but our assault was a draw. We just kept sending the bomb back and forth to eachothers bases. Maybe we could work on possible strategies and ways to get the bomb in to score quicker.

you were doing training last night angelo? all I remember was loads of ctf and bomb runs, and we were outnumbered and you loved the challenge Razz but maybe that was later... I didn't join until around 11pm ET I think... but it was a fun night for sure Smile

I guess this means I should never team with Dasro_kast on CTF games since I'm as useless as he claims to be! Our team would suck! Cool

Yeah, that was the after training session festivities...

I loved the challenge! The first match I talked a lot, trying to coordinate my team and such, but after we lost I started thinking. The reason I wanted to do it again was so I could see what my team was doing that wasn't helping us, and what your team was doing that was working. Some of the people on my team switched and some of the people on your team switched and all of a sudden it was really uneven, but it was still a good experience for me because I got to see all these different nuances in action.

There are quite a few things I picked up that I'm going to jot down and talk about when we get into CTF strategies. So, thanks for whooping me...

Yep, someone told me that about half way through. That will definitely be set correctly tonight.

No worries about the sniping. You had no way of knowing. Tonight will be much more informative, if you don't like what I'm doing... I'll boot you Wink

I was probably the biggest "don't mute yourself" violator. I'm so used to being in game and muting myself when I get close to someone so they don't hear me breathing (I don't know how I got in that habit) that last night I muted myself a biazillion times...

I'm not sure we'll get to CTF stuff tonight, but that will definitely be the next area that gets covered and will eventually have a trainer or trainers that are specifically assigned to teaching on that subject.

28 pages is a lot to read through. What do I have to do to play with some beekeepers. Or join the clan even? Or check out the training session?

All you have to do is send other keepers a friend request. I can't remember where it is, but I know KirstenS made a list of all the beekeepers tags.

Joining a clan requires an invite.

Hooking up with a training session requires that you pm me. Tonights session is full, but there will be many more sessions avalible, lead by multiple trainers.

If you are a trainer and attended the training session last night please pm me with you gamertag. I'm going to make up a list of 'Angelo's Approved Trainers' (AATs) and I'll work with those people to set up a multitude of classes in different categories.

I think it deteriorated because people kept getting me in their sights, and they'd think, "krystyn ... must ... kill ..." and then any and all thoughts of training prep went right out the carney hole.

It was fun to be a sort of punching bag. I got to practice warthog- and ghost-jacking, which really looks funny if you're not either party. The little punching noise before you leap into the vehicle is very "Socko!" Batmanesque.

I've never felt that way krystyn...

Well, right now, yes. I'm really just a little general strategies/gameplanning away from being a contributor...This is the first time I've actually played CTF mode in an online multiplayer game. Actually, Halo 2 is the first time I've played a multiplayer FPS since Half-life and Goldeneye came out when I was in college. I did feel a little better playing some clan matches with the SPDR ninjas last night, even if we got completely owned when pit against a level 9 clan on Headlong. That map is the devil.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Thin Kinkle!!! Shocked

I hope I don't play with him too much, 'cause I'll be very guilty of teamkilling!!! Twisted Evil

but yeah, I really enjoyed playing with thebruce, angelo, and the others last night. 'specially since I was usually on the winning team Very Happy

I'm excited for training tonight. I got to play some maps yesterday that I've never been on and I was getting my butt kicked. It was great though. Learn or die!(reminds me of that video game for NES, Skate or Die..the little skull starts chasing you around trying to kill you.)

I really liked the article that IGN wrote about the play day they had with Bungie. That's the kind of teamwork I envision happening. Leave no hole uncovered, show no mercy! Kill or be killed! Laughing

especially considering most of the time we were outnumbered Razz

and I will keep using the excuse until I start winning regularly - I had to relearn the controls entirely for Halo 2! You try switching your moving and turning sticks... I had to go from southpaw to default... so... nyah
