Where can we buy tickets to Krystyn's musical? You know, to hear the rest of the song? Very Happy

I don't know. Chicago?
Krystyn?

Also, I would probably have to say that at least a few of the PMs are also big fans, considering Krystyn has been mentioned every single time the PMs have gotten together and talked to us.

Bahahaha!

Sadly, my musical is over. It closed November 6th.

I don't have any other shows lined up right now. Which means I can clock some hours on Halo 2, and maybe (finally) get the archives of some Mu stuff back up at ARGN.

If you're ever on multiplayer, you can maybe be on my team, and I'll sing the whole song as a rallying cry!

Maybe I will even change the lyrics to reflect my new status as Bard to Angelo! Wink

ETA: Yeah, Chicago, and the musical was performed in a near west suburb, with a really great smaller theatre group. Nice people. I even had my own song, top of Act II.

DreamOfTheRood, that was lovely. I have to admit, when you said you were a composer...well, I was a music major, had two years of theory with Harvard-trained teachers and very talented composition majors...I'm a bit of a snob. I didn't take you particularly seriously. But that was lovely...very evocative.

This is only a slight criticism and should not in any way be taken as negating any part of my admiration for what you've done, but sometimes the dialogue bits were almost unintelligible -- I'm not sure if it was because of the effects used on them or if it was just that they were at a relatively low volume compared to the music. That's my only nitpick.

But again, amazing job.

Will you be doing another any time in the relatively near future?

I hope to! I am possibly auditioning for a stage play on Tuesday, and there's a lead role in a musical that I will very likely go for early spring in '05.

We'll see. I feel sort of bereft atm, since my show and this ARG ended at the same time, really. I feel a little stir-crazy right now, since I am not running around all stressed out any more. Having free time feels wrong somehow.

Does that make me type A? Yipes.

Yes, and perhaps we should have a support group... Wink

High praise, indeed.
My musical theory consists of two things: instincts and riffs. Chord progressions generally don't work for me, but every once in a while, I'll find something like the progression in Pretty Jenny that just really grabs me. However, my main focus now is on getting good riffs, and The Truth is just the first in that line.
I want to write music that you can really feel, that gets deep down in your gut and stays there for a while. I want to write music like Beethoven.
Beethoven was super-deaf when he wrote some of his best music. He cut the legs off of his piano and lowered it to the floor, and he would write by laying his head on the floor to feel the vibrations that the piano produced. That's what I want my music to be like. I want people to really be able to feel it, and I don't understand why other people don't write music like this. I mean, we've got the absolute pinnacle as far as sound technology goes, but people still write music that just so ... I don't know ... light. It's music that's irrelevant, and I don't know why they put it out.
I don't know if I'm where I want to be yet with my music, but I think I'm close.

music can only be as good as the amount of reverence and passion the composer puts into it... so much these days is just about making money, making what people want to hear. Honestly, music is an art form. REAL artists treat it with care and respect, not about gaining attention, but about expressing themselves. A piece of art should hold a piece of you... art lovers, music lovers, can tell what's an honest piece of art, and just a splattering of colours or notes...

Maybe, if you want to, you could take Glassed Earth (Waveless Version) to your college radio stations or some such thing.

Okay, I finally rememberd to bring my iPod to work today, and I finally listened to this.

Wow. Just. Wow.

I was just going to listen while I did some work, and I ended up staring at my computer blankly while it played. This is AMAZING^9999.

Excellent work!

Also, I must agree that Krystyn has an excellent singing voice. The bit with her at the beginning is also amazing.

Kudos to all!

Heh. I feel like such a philistine. I'm happy if I get harmony and witty lyrics.

The Jewish girl gives me a compliment, and Vortech then feels like a Philistine. Biblical parallels abound.

I'm here all week, folks.

As tne man says, I got nothin'. A Roman chariot pulled by sweaty angry Spice Girls comes to mind but I don't think that qualifies as a shared reference. Enjoyed the choon though.
