NYC Gathering with Dana, I mean, Jane

I meant to post this here a few days ago, we've been discussing it in chat...

Jane McGonigal, PM Goddess Extraordinaire, will be in NYC for a few days and wants to hang out with some Beekeepers. Here's a chance to hang out with a real life ILB PM and baske in her warm post-game glow.

Also on hand will be Kiyash Monsef, one of the Axon Scouts. He did the scouting for NYC, among other places. So if you've ever wanted to ask, "Where the F*@% was the axon at (some coords)?!?", now's your chance.

No definite date yet, most likely Sunday 11/21 or Monday 11/22, time/place TBA.

The ball is in your court Jane.

This isn't an axon, it doesn't have to be during the day. Razz

I was actually thinking evening-ish, I have work on Monday too Smile

true, true... its just that it takes about 4 hours to get to NYC for me, i'd probably drive to philly then take a train, as long as someone could meet me at penn station

CoffeeJedi, you're from the Philly area? I go to Swarthmore College and would love to attend (although, like others, would need this to happen on a Sunday). Maybe I could hitch a ride?

meeting

I am assuming he hasn't heard from her. It turns out that I may be gone for the whole week before Thanksgiving, I have some plans for Sunday that I can't break - I am going to be in Washington for unexpected meetings (relating to the latest stuff on Sudan). Some of my family lives near there and if I can just stay then I will not come back.

Please- schedule this for when it is best for you.

I plan to entice her and whoever else I can from the PM team to NYC for the ARG fest ...once we get that set up. Luckily she used to live in the city so she has reasons to be back here anyway.

PS I promise to contribute to the cost of the drinks and dinner. I owe anthrax at least one drink and bagsbee more....

Awsome... 1 problem... I am low on funds, my last trip to the city cost me high and mighty.
This time around I won't drive in, and the train would cost me almost as much as my lost ass getting in and out by car...

If only it were after Thanksgiving, i get paid that friday...

Otherwise I would be more than happy to go and shuttle people from the hudson valley.... Of course... if some people pitched in... I could make additional trips and go this sunday.....

Sorry guys, she just got back to me today...don't shoot the messenger...plus I hadn't seen many responses here, didn't know if people were still interested...

There's a gaming seminar downtown tomorrow, Monday Nov. 22nd at 7pm that Jane will be attending. She would like to meet up for coffee and chat beforehand with some Beekeepers. We haven't set a place for coffee yet, but I'm proposing we meet up around 6pm at the fountain at City Hall, and we'll take if from there. I leave it as an exercise to the reader on how to get there Smile

No seriously if you need info on how to get there, or just wanna swap cell #'s, PM or email me (see links below). Just so you know...the way it looks, it's not going to be an all-night thing (it is Jane's vacation after all), just a cup of coffee and chat, so it's up to you if you wanna travel 4 hours each way (as someone in this thread said they would). I'm not trying to discourage you, just manage your expectations. Personally I'd love for people to come, I'm always game to meet like-minded people (read, crazy). I plan on checking out the seminar myself, it sounds rather interesting, if anyone else is, we can hang afterwards if you like Very Happy
