I got free for all oddball! Too messy in my opinion! Loads of guys jumping off cliffs on Ascension, since they're dying anyway but they don't let you get the ball, which respawn again in some random location!

Since most people mentioned weakness, I think mine still is strategy game like CTF, Assault and King of the hill. I did find my role yesterday as a rocket whore and after I ran out of ammo, I would defend the flag with HitsHerMark. But on offense, I feel I didn't contribute as much.

One tip for people that don't fare well on Slayer games. Try some Rumble Pit free for all slayer! Remove your headset, so you won't listen kids trash talking. It's good to improve your aim and strafe properly, learn how to set up some ambushes and how to (try to) survive when you have 1-2 guys shooting you! Not as fun as playing with beekeepers but it's a nice training exercise by itself.

Yeah, but it's also a good kick in the self-confidence when you match up with 7 people ranked below you and lose miserably.

True Monty Python moment last night- scoped in with the battle rifle, near the center of the map, someone running towards me, dips between the hills, and then bam, I'm dead because of a b button induced by lag teleportation. Bah!

But it was fun last night, that one endless capture the flag game... classic! I think one problem we had on blue (me in particular, but team overall) is that I'm not used to talking so much during the game. So got to learn that through more practice, because that can only help. On the Team Slayer match afterwards, angelo and I started out just beating down thebruce and nznova until all of a sudden, they got coordinated and became completely different.

(note here, thebruce probably had the best death noises, especially taking one from the energy sword unawares!)

Things I noticed. I am awful with the pistol now. That and I seem to go through ammo exceedingly quick with it. And I need to retrain myself on grenade tosses, as I was really bad with that for the most part, and in H1, I could tag people a lot with stickies. But I love the sword, didn't do too bad with it!

So when are we doing this again?

Oh and after all that time, it was late at night and I was going to disconnect when a friend wanted me to show him how to do live stuff, so had to jump back into the fray. The Live update did seem to speed up the game setup process.

piping in here... last night was definitely fun... glad I could entertain angelo by laughing over his smoldering corpse whenever I managed to kill him Razz somehow I find that very uplifting to be able to kill him... once for every 10 he kills me Razz man I suck now.

I could tell you found it uplifting. On colossis you and nova where about to make me wet my pants. Every time you guys would kill me I'd hear this hoot or laugh or 'heck yeah' like you just killed the worst terrorist on the face of the planet... I almost wanted to just run at you guys and let you kill me ... almost. Wink

my weakness - slayer.

I think I might be noticing a trend here. You guys love slayer... No, wait that's not it.

We'll definitely start having some more slayer training. I'm going to have to start thinking about what I do to be successful in slayer matches and trainers I'd urge you to do the same.

Hey Angelo, I wasn't at the training, but I love slayer. Unfortunatly things have gone hectic the last week, but next week is looking ok. I look forward to taking you on in some slayer! Hopefully my 133t s|<i11z are good enough to be a trainer. Heh. Just let me know whats up, and I'll try to be there

if you want to be in SPDR ninjas someone can send you an invite. If you don't have one when I get home I'll send one.

Aboot the banshees in the base..I managed to hang one in the hole..it was great because anyone who tried to drop down would be crushed by it...glitch I guess Rolling Eyes It was great too because someone got our flag and I was able to hop in that banshee and chase them down Laughing

I've got a few tips for people.

If you snipe, change your position after, if not every shot, every few shots. This will lower the chances of you being homed in on so easily.

ooh, ooh, Beehemian, I mean Bohemian Rhapsody just came on the radio.

Back on topic.

Dual wield whenever you can...no matter what the combination 2 guns is almost always better than one. Don't forget to reload, if possible, after every person you kill even if you have used only 3 rounds and have almost a full clip. Those 3 missing bullets could be your key to life or death.

Grenades are some of your best friends. Practice with them. They are just as defensive as offensive. Frag grenades have a 3 second timer from the time they hit an object, so, if you have someone running at you bounce a grenade off of the ground right in front of you. Even if you don't hit them with the blast it will give you a second or two of cover to re-engage your opponent with more of an offense.
When entering a building, toss a grenade. You almost alway see SWAT or SEALS or anyone doing a tactical insertion use flash bangs. Grenades work the same way. You may not kill the people inside but you disorient them.

In CTF if you are the carrier and are being fired at, if you have teammate or two coming towards you you can jump and pull the R trigger. This causes you to, not quite throw the flag, but it does propell it further than it would go if you die holding it.
Also if you are running the flag change the route you run on. When weephun would get the flag and I saw up in the corner "weephun has the blue team flag" I could almost always trace his path. On the roof through the teleport then I could just whack him. Wink

That's it for now, I have a lot more that I would like to say, but then this post would be 1000 times longer.

I'm not the best player in Halo, but I can hold my own. As long as I'm having fun I don't mind losing. It's a game, and games are supposed to be fun!

Man the SPDR Ninja's are a blast to play with. I love how we actually use strategy!!! Except for Hixxed and his tea bag (dont ask)! Ill say what many of you have already said. This group is by far the most fun to play with!! Since everyone is saying it, I'd say my strengths lie in games where the team needs a great amount of communication and strategy! I'm pretty good at coordinating. I do alright at slayer matches and can hold my own. I suck at one on one though. http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStats.aspx?gameID=3107898&player=DrSeuss90
I have no idea what happened there. I thought I was a much better player than that. I know....... I'll blame it on the shoes I was wearing!

guess I haven't commented on my strengths/weaknesses yet.

Honestly I'm a good soldier, but not a leader. Tell me what to do and I'll get the job done. But leave strategery planning up to me and we're screwed.

I also prefer defense to offense in team games for some reason; finding an out of the way corner with a view of the flag, and then not moving. Enemy runs in thinking the flag is unguarded, then BAM! Dual wielded SMGs to the back of the head Very Happy

Team games are my preference over free for alls, too. There's just some thrill to a perfectly executed squad maneuver.

I also seem to be pretty good with the sword. Even in a sword on sword dual, I must have the timing perfect or something cause I almost always pull off the kill.

Sniping is a definite weakness. I can take someone down, but it'll probably take me 3-4 shots at least.

Yah, throwback to Halo 1. I could just get in a ghost and take the shortest route back. Almost guaranteed flag capture. Now that A - can't drive with the flag and B - vehicles are destructible, that strategy doesn't work. Guess I still had that in my head when I was running. Thanks for the heads up.

I'd really like to get in on one of these sessions. Not so sure if I want to join a clan yet (btw what's the difference between the 2 ILB clans out there?), but someone please send me an invite when something's going down. I'm no leet, but I can definitely hang with most players.

Remember this one thing. If you are still on the lower levels you may actually be playing against level 10 or higher people.

I for example am a level 4! I should definitely be a level 5, I mean come on, look at my stats... Wink, but I've only played 5 games.

So, don't feel bad, just keep trying and you'll get better.

Nah, you're probably a 10-11. I'm level 8 now and I think I can get at least 9-10 ...
